Assens is a town with a population of 6,061 on the west coast of the island of Funen on the eastern side of the Little Belt in central Denmark. By road, Assens is located 41.2 kilometres (25.6 mi) southwest of Odense, 34 kilometres (21 mi) northwest of Faaborg, and 33.34 kilometres (20.72 mi) southeast of Middelfart. Assens is the municipal seat of Assens Municipality in Region of Southern Denmark. It was the birthplace of sculptor Jens Adolf Jerichau who married the well-known portraitist Elisabeth Jerichau-Baumann; both artists' works are exhibited at the local art museum, Vestfyns Kunstmuseum.

Nørre Broby, or simply Broby, is a small town in southwest-central Funen, Denmark, to the northeast of Haarby. It was the seat of Broby Municipality between 1970 and 2006 until the municipality was dissolved and merged with Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality. 1 January 2023 it had a population of 1,479. Nørre Broby Church (kirke), dated to around 1100, is located in the town. It also contains the Broby Library. It has a history of clover production, and farmers in the Nørre Broby area were already cultivating it in 1785.
Gelsted is a small town and parish in northwestern Funen, Denmark. Gelsted is located roughly halfway between Ejby and Aarup, 28 kilometers west of Odense. The parish is located in Middelfart Municipality, and a small portion is located in Assens Municipality, within the Region of Southern Denmark. 1 January 2023 the town had a population of 1,689 with 2,312 in the parish in total itself. It contains the Gelsted Church.
