Allenville is in southeastern Moultrie County along Illinois Route 121, which leads northwest 7 miles (11 km) to Sullivan, the county seat, and southeast 11 miles (18 km) to Mattoon.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Allenville has a total area of 0.61 square miles (1.58 km2), all land. [2] Coon Creek runs through the west side of the village, flowing north toward the Kaskaskia River in Lake Shelbyville.

There were 72 housing units at an average density of 123.6 per square mile (47.7/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 100.00% White.
There were 61 households, out of which 18.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.7% were married couples living together, 4.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.1% were non-families. 26.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 13.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.52 and the average family size was 3.10.
