Ananya Khare is an Indian television and film actress who is best known for her appearances in Bollywood films like Devdas and Chandni Bar . She won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the movie Chandni Bar . [1]

Personal life

Khare took a break and shifted to the US in 2005 after she met her husband, David. She worked as an English teacher in a school before the couple decided to shift base back to Mumbai after 10 years. [2]

Career

She first made her mark on television in serials including 1987's Nirmala for almost two decades before her big-screen success. [3] She was awarded an Indian National Award for best-supporting actress for her role in Chandni Bar and subsequently nominated for her role in Devdas . She has been awarded for her roles on stage, television, and on the big screen. [4]

More recently, Khare has gained popularity by being back on television and mostly being cast in negative roles on popular soap operas. [5] In 2020, Ananya played the character Benazir Abdullah in the ALTBalaji series Bebaakee. [6] [7]

<i>Bebaakee</i> 2020 Hindi language web series

Bebaakee (Madness) is a Hindi-language drama web series directed by Muzammil Desai and produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under their banner Balaji Telefilms. It stars Kushal Tandon, Karan Jotwani along with debutant Shiv Jyoti Rajput in lead roles. The first eight episodes were streamed on ZEE5 and ALTBalaji on 30 August 2020 while the ninth and tenth were streamed on 2 September 2020. The next five episodes were released on 12 October 2020 while the remaining sixteen episodes of the first season were released on 11 December 2020. The series will receive a second season but the release date hasn't been officially announced.

<i>Gud Se Meetha Ishq</i> Indian drama television series

Gud Se Meetha Ishq is an Indian Hindi-language |drama television series that premiered on 18 April 2022 on Star Bharat and digitally on Disney+ Hotstar. Produced by Film Farm India as an official remake of Star Jalsha's Bengali series Jol Nupur, it stars Pankhuri Awasthy Rode, Meera Deosthale, Ishaan Dhawan, and Arhaan Behll. It went off air on 1 October 2022.
