The Anglican Diocese of Cape Coast is a diocese [1] of the Church of the Province of West Africa, a member church of the worldwide Anglican Communion. It is the oldest area of Anglican missionary activity in Ghana. This diocese was created out of the then Accra Diocese in 1981. It has had four Diocesan Bishops to date. They are the Rt Rev John Alexander Ackon, Rt Rev Eduah Quarshie, Rt Rev Daniel Sylvanus Adotei Allotey and the current Diocesan, Rt Rev Victor Reginald Atta-Baffoe. She is divided into 5 Archdeaconries, namely - Winneba, Saltpond, Cape Coast, Fosu and Agona-Swedru, as well as the Cathedral Parish of Christ the King. In 2014, the Diocese of Dunkwa-on-Offin was carved out of the Diocese of Cape Coast, making it one of two in the Central Region of Ghana. She has an active church membership of around 14,687 worshipping in 54 Parishes and their outstations. She also has about 49 active duty clergy, including three female Priests, and three Deacons, Namely Rev. Jeremiah Nii Nartey, Rev. Lawrence Owusu and Rev. Albert Cobbah. [2] In 2020 the Anglican Diocese of Cape Coast ordained its first female deacon, the Rev Mrs Vida Gyabeng Frimpong. [2] The Administrator of the Diocese is Rev. Fr. Domenick Eshun, a native of Elmina. He is also the current Chaplain of the Bishop Ackon Memorial Eye Center in Cape Coast.
Its partner diocese is the Diocese of Chichester. [3] The current bishop is Victor Atta-Baffoe. [4]
The role of the Diocese in the development of education in the Central Region cannot be over-emphasized. There are 54 Day Nurseries, 62 Primary Schools and 74 Junior Secondary Schools under the administration of the Anglican Educational Unit. There are two Senior High Schools in the Diocese. These include the world-famous boys boarding Senior High School, and Adisadel College. The other Senior High School is the mixed Christ the King Academy. The Church of the Province of West Africa's Provincial Seminary, St Nicholas Seminary is located in Cape Coast in the Diocese. She also has the oldest school in Ghana. The Philip Quaque Boys School founded by the now canonised Rev Philip Quaque, an SPG missionary of local origins, in the 18th century.<ref>[Anglican Story in Ghana, Pobee]
With regard to the provision of health care the Diocese has two medical facilities: a health clinic at Dominase in the Upper Denkyira District and an Eye Clinic, the Bishop Ackon Memorial Christian Eye Centre in Cape Coast.

Barbara Clementine Harris was an American bishop of the Episcopal Church in the United States. She was the first woman consecrated a bishop in the Anglican Communion. She was elected suffragan bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts, on September 24, 1988, and was consecrated on February 11, 1989. Eight thousand people attended the service, which was held at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, Massachusetts. She served in the role of suffragan bishop for 13 years, retiring in 2003.
The Episcopal Diocese of Nevada is the diocese of the Episcopal Church in the USA which comprises the entire State of Nevada. The eleventh and current bishop of the Diocese, The Rt. Rev. Elizabeth Bonforte Gardner, was ordained and consecrated by Presiding Bishop Michael Curry at Christ Church Episcopal in Las Vegas on March 5, 2022. On October 8, 2021, the Reverend Gardner was elected bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Nevada.
The Anglican ministry is both the leadership and agency of Christian service in the Anglican Communion. Ministry commonly refers to the office of ordained clergy: the threefold order of bishops, priests and deacons. More accurately, Anglican ministry includes many laypeople who devote themselves to the ministry of the church, either individually or in lower/assisting offices such as lector, acolyte, sub-deacon, Eucharistic minister, cantor, musicians, parish secretary or assistant, warden, vestry member, etc. Ultimately, all baptized members of the church are considered to partake in the ministry of the Body of Christ.
The Anglican Diocese of Armidale is a diocese of the Anglican Church of Australia located in the state of New South Wales. The ordination of women in the Anglican Communion has been increasingly common in certain provinces since the 1970s. Several provinces, however, and certain dioceses within otherwise ordaining provinces, continue to ordain only men. Disputes over the ordination of women have contributed to the establishment and growth of progressive tendencies, such as the Anglican realignment and Continuing Anglican movements.
Santosh Kumar Marray is the eleventh and current bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Easton. Before this, he served as assistant bishop for both the Diocese of Alabama (2012-2016) and the Diocese of East Carolina (2009-2012). Prior to that, he was Bishop of Seychelles. He was ordained as a priest in 1981, and served in this capacity in Florida, Guyana, and the Bahamas before being consecrated as bishop.
Albert Arthur Chambers was the seventh bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Springfield, serving from 1962 to 1972. He then retired in part because he opposed revising the Book of Common Prayer and ordaining women as priests, which would be expressly authorized by the General Convention in 1976.

Jennifer Lynn Baskerville-Burrows is the bishop of the Diocese of Indianapolis in the Episcopal Church, elected in October 2016s consecrated on April 29, 2017. She is the first African-American woman to be elected a diocesan bishop. Prior to her consecration, she served as Director of Networking in the Diocese of Chicago. Previously, she was a priest in the Episcopal Diocese of Central New York, the Episcopal Diocese of Newark, and the Episcopal Diocese of California. In addition to her parish ministry, she has been Director of Alumni and Church Relations at Church Divinity School of the Pacific and a chaplain to Syracuse University.
Gulnar Eleanor "Guli" Francis-Dehqani is an Iranian-born British Anglican bishop who has been Bishop of Chelmsford since 2021. She served as the first Bishop of Loughborough, the suffragan bishop in the Diocese of Leicester, from 2017 to 2021.

Eleanor Ruth Sanderson is an English Anglican bishop who has served as Bishop of Hull, a suffragan bishop in the Church of England Diocese of York, since 2022. She previously served as an assistant bishop in the Diocese of Wellington within the Anglican Church of Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia. She became the first woman bishop in the Wellington diocese when she was consecrated on 2 June 2017. At the time, she was the fourth woman to be elevated to the position of bishop in the New Zealand Anglican church. Prior to becoming a bishop, she served as an Anglican priest for eleven years, also in the Wellington diocese.
