The European Athletics Team Championships, is an international athletics competition organised by European Athletics, between different countries of Europe, over 4 leagues. It replaced in 2009 the former and similar European Cup (1965-2008). Unlike most international competitions, medals are not awarded to individuals in individual events but to the overall winning team on a points system.

The 2nd Central American and Caribbean Junior Championships was held in Xalapa, Mexico, on 26–29 August 1976. The city was already the host of the inaugural CAC senior championships in May, 1967.

The South American U18 Championships in Athletics is a biennial athletics event organized by "Confederación Sudamericana de Atletismo" (CONSUDATLE), the South American area association of the International Amateur Athletic Federation (IAAF). Starting in 1973, the competition was open for athletes under-17 in the early years. Since 2000 the international age group definition has applied. Up until the 2016 edition the competition was known as the South American Youth Championships in Athletics. The tournament is open for athletes from CONSUDATLE member federations. Athletes from IAAF members of other geographical areas may be invited. However, they are not considered in the classification.

Sam McIntosh is an Australian Paralympic athlete who races in the T52 100m, 200m, and 400m events. He holds 3 Australian National Records and 2 Oceania Records. He represented Australia at the 2012 London Paralympic Games, 2016 Rio Paralympics and 2020 Tokyo Paralympics in athletics as well as the 2011, 2015, 2017, and 2019 Para Athletic World Championships.

Athletics at the 2015 CPISRA World Games were held during the last 3 days of the games, from 13 to 15 August 2015, at the Harvey Hadden Stadium. The sport of athletics in the 2015 CPISRA World Games was split into three distinct sets of events: track and field events and Racerunning events.

Swimming events at the 2017 Canada Summer Games were held in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the Pan Am Pool from August 7 to August 12. There were 67 events of swimming at these games. The Canada Games are a youth competition, the age restrictions for swimming at the 2017 Canada Summer games restricted competition to males born in 2001 or later and females born in 2002 or later. This effectively made the games a 16 under male competition or 15 and under female competition for able bodied swimmers.
