Axure RP Pro / Team is a software for creating prototypes and specifications for websites and applications.

Contents

Features

Axure RP supports prototyping rich web applications by mapping desired interface behaviors (such as displaying or hiding an element) in response to actions like mouse clicks or touch gestures. [1] Axure RP generates HTML web sites for preview and team collaboration. Interactions in Axure RP can be created manually or with natural language, and they are transformed into JavaScript code. [2] [3]

Prototypes created by Axure RP can be shared locally or through Axure's cloud platform. These prototypes can be viewed without downloading Axure. [3] [4] Axure prototypes can also be printed out, but functionality is hidden in printed prototypes. [2] Axure prototypes cannot automatically log user interactions. [2]

Reception

A review in UX Magazine noted that Axure RP had an active community, but its interface is complex and it is not well-suited for mobile applications. [1] A 2017 study found that, when teams were given a prototyping task, prototypes created with Axure were rated lower across a variety of quality metrics compared to prototypes created on paper. [2]

In an overview of Axure RP, Todd Zaki Warfel praised its ease of use for beginners, along with its collaboration abilities, but criticized its inability to create arbitrary drawings. [5]
