Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University is a Bangladesh's first specialized government digital university. [1] It was established in 2018. It is situated in Kaliakair, Gazipur, Dhaka.

History

On 26 July 2016, [2] the government of Bangladesh enacted a regulation withinside the National Assembly to set up this varsity on a 50-acre web website online adjoining to Bangabandhu Hi-Tech Park in Kaliakair, Gazipur District. [3] In the 2018-2019 [4] educational 12 months, university began its educational sports from March 2019. The University Grants Commission (Bangladesh) has already given the approval to behavior instructional sports beneath neath schools specifically the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Educational Research and the Institute for Online and Distance Learning.

It is the only public university in Bangladesh to teach textile engineering. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University (BSMRMU) was established in 2013, the 37th public university of the country. It is the first maritime university in Bangladesh, the 3rd maritime university in South Asia and the 12th maritime university in the world. It has issued its first calls for admission in December, 2016. The BSc in Oceanography program was started on 3 January 2017 at the University's temporary campus in Mirpur, as part of the first-ever launch of the Bachelor class in the University. Then in 2018, the first batch of BSc in Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering classes started. Two more program classes started in 2019. LLB in Maritime Law and BBA in Port Management and Logistics. 2020 BSc in Maritime Fisheries first batch admission and classes start.

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Tunnel, also known as Karnaphuli Tunnel, is an underwater expressway tunnel in the port city of Chittagong, Bangladesh under the Karnaphuli river. The length of the entire route is 9.39 kilometres (5.83 mi), with the tunnel making up 3.32 kilometres (2.06 mi) of the length. The tunnel diameter is 10.80 metres (35.4 ft). It is expected, over 17,000 vehicles will be able to use this tunnel daily. The cost of the project is estimated at US$1.1B, of which around half is financed by the Exim Bank of China. The Bangabandhu Tunnel is the first underwater road tunnel in South Asia. It is expected to improve the Dhaka–Chittagong–Cox's Bazar highway network. A Chinese company, China Communications Construction Company, was selected to construct it. The tunnel segments were produced in Zhenjiang, China.

The non-cooperation movement of 1971 was a historical movement in then East Pakistan by the Awami League and the general public against the military government of Pakistan in March of that year. After the announcement of the suspension of the session of the National Assembly of Pakistan on 1 March, the spontaneous movement of the people started, but officially on the call of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the non-cooperation movement started on 2 March and continued until 25 March. The movement lasted for a total of 25 days. The main objective of this movement was to ensure the autonomy of East Pakistan from the central government of Pakistan. During this period, the control of the central government of West Pakistan over the civilian administration of East Pakistan was almost non-existent. At one stage of the movement, the whole of East Pakistan, except the cantonments, was practically under the command of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Sheikh Lutfur Rahman was a Bangladeshi serestadar, an officer responsible for record-keeping at the Gopalganj civil court in British India. His son Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was the first president of Bangladesh. Lutfar was also the paternal grandfather of Sheikh Hasina.

Jatir Janak Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Govt. College, Dhaka is a college situated near Airport Road at Dhaka in Bangladesh. It was established in 2013. It is a 6-storey building. The playground is available for playing and for festivals. The college was opened on 7 August 2014 with 580 students. The college has a total number of 900 seats for students. The government operates it officially.

Mujibism refers to the political view held and propagated by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the architect of the liberation movement of Bangladesh. Mujibism consists of four fundamental policies: nationalism, socialism, democracy, and secularism. On 7 June 1972, he said that before the country's liberation, the slogans were the six points, now the slogans were the four pillars. When the Constitution of Bangladesh was adopted in 1972, the four pillars become the four fundamental state policies of Bangladesh.

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman University, Kishoreganj is a government financed public university located in the town of Kishoreganj in Bangladesh. Established in 2020, BSMRU is named after Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the country's founding father. On 24 January 2020 in regular cabinet meeting, chaired by prime minister, agreed in principle to the Acts for the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman University in Kishoreganj District. Z M Parvez Sazzad, a professor at the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) in Dhaka University, will serve as the founding vice-chancellor of the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman University in Kishorganj for the next four years starting from 27 January 2021.

Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician. He was elected a member of parliament from Bagerhat-1 in February 1996.

A co-production between Bangladesh and India, the film was directed by Shyam Benegal and stars Arifin Shuvoo in the titular role.

Moloy Kumar Ganguly composed sang originally this song to the tune with music arrangement of Almas Ali. The song is considered to be the most popular song about Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The Mausoleum of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is the mausoleum of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founder and the first president of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. It is located in Tungipara of Gopalganj district, the birthplace of Mujib, and was designed by architects Ehsan Khan, Ishtiaque Jahir and Iqbal Habib.
