BermudAir is the flag carrier of Bermuda, operating from L.F. Wade International Airport in St. George, Bermuda. On 1 September 2023, the airline began operating flights between its base in Bermuda and the United States. [4] [2] BermudAir gained its AOC from the Bermuda Civil Aviation Authority on 26 July 2023, and US DOT approval on 7 August 2023. BermudAir is the first locally established Bermudian airline. [5]

BermudAir has leased two Embraer 175 aircraft, which formerly flew for Flybe. [2] As of September 2023 [update] , the BermudAir fleet consists of the following aircraft: [10] [11] BermudAir plans to add an additional two Embraer aircraft in Spring 2025. [12]

At launch, the airline's Embraer 175s had 88 seats in a single-class configuration, but only sold 44 on each flight, affording customers the benefit of additional space. In October 2023, the airline announced that its aircraft will be reconfigured with dual-class cabin. [13]
BermudAir aircraft offer complimentary onboard wi-fi for all passengers. Additionally, passengers receive at least one complimentary checked bag regardless of fare class. Complimentary beverages, snacks, and light meals are served onboard and are curated from local partners based in Bermuda. [11]

L.F. Wade International Airport, formerly named Bermuda International Airport, is the sole airport serving the British overseas territory of Bermuda in the north Atlantic Ocean. It is located in the parish of St. George's and is 6 nautical miles northeast of Bermuda's capital, Hamilton. In 2016, the airport handled 402,925 passengers, up 5.6% from 2006. It has one passenger terminal, one cargo terminal, eight aircraft stands and can support all aircraft sizes up to and including the Airbus A380. Currently, nine passenger or cargo airlines operate seasonal or year-round scheduled services from the Azores, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The airport covers 536 acres of land and contains one runway.

ExpressJet Airlines was a regional airline in the United States that operated from 1987 until 2022. It was headquartered in College Park, Georgia. The company began as Britt Airways and flew exclusively as Continental Express, the contracted codeshare partner for Continental Airlines. The name was changed to ExpressJet at the beginning of 1995 as the company began acquiring regional jets, replacing its fleet of turboprop aircraft. Along with flying as Continental Express, ExpressJet expanded flying under the Delta Connection brand from 2007 through 2008 and again from 2012 through 2018. Service as American Eagle was flown between 2012 and 2019 and service under the United Express brand began in 2009. ExpressJet also flew an independent operation under their own brand in 2007 through 2008. When Continental Airlines merged into United Airlines in 2012, the Continental Express operations were added to the United Express service. In September 2020, it exited the fee-for-departure airline market and temporarily ceased flights after the conclusion of its contract with its sole remaining mainline partner, United Airlines. In September 2021, ExpressJet resumed operations as both an air charter provider and a regional airline under its own brand aha!—short for "Air-Hotel-Adventure." The brand's route structure focused on the West Coast of the United States with a hub at Reno-Tahoe International Airport, and scheduled flights began on October 24, 2021. The airline, including its brand aha!, filed for bankruptcy on August 23, 2022, having ceased all operations the previous day. In July 2023, the airline announced plans to relaunch as an air charter service using a single leased Boeing 777.

It was, together with Ving Group, a part of Thomas Cook Group until 23 December 2019 when Norwegian investor Petter Stordalen and Strawberry Group rebranded the company as Sunclass Airlines.
