Bhandup Vidhan Sabha seat was one of the seats in Maharashtra Legislative Assembly in India. It was made defunct after the constituency map of India was redrawn in 2008. Now there is a new constituency named Bhandup West which is a segment of Mumbai North East Lok Sabha seat.

He served as secretary of the Maharashtra State Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), vice-president of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions, Maharashtra State Committee president of CITU and editor of the Marathi party organ Jeevan Marg.

Sanjay Dina Patil is an Indian politician from Mumbai. He was elected to Maharashtra State assembly in 2004 from Bhandup. In 2009, he was elected to 15th Lok Sabha from Mumbai North East constituency in Maharashtra state in India, as a Nationalist Congress Party candidate. He lost the reelection for the same seat in 2014. He was succeeded by Kirit Somaiya of the Bharatiya Janata Party of India.
