Blastobasis lacticolella is a species of moth of the family Blastobasidae. [3] It is endemic to Madeira but has been introduced to western Europe [5] [2] and is now reported from the Netherlands, [3] Great Britain, [4] [5] Ireland, [2] and Sweden. [5] It is widespread in southern England. [4]
The wingspan is 15–23 mm. [5] Adults are on wing from March to October [5] (from May to June and again in autumn in the UK [4] ).
Larvae feed in a silken gallery, on a wide variety of unrelated food types, including leaf-litter, vegetation and stored products, such as: [4] [6]
