This road starts at Chemin Vanier in Aylmer and ends at Boulevard Saint-Raymond and Route 148.
It is home to the new D'Arcy McGee English high school, which recently moved from its former location near the Hull Hospital, several kilometres away.
This roadway, which was fairly quiet until the mid-1990s, became very busy after 2000, when the community began to grow rapidly. The increasing number of residents, was one of the reasons that retail and commercial development has exploded, similar to the likes of Barrhaven's Marketplace district as well as the Kanata Centrum and the Holy Trinity/Avalon district of Orleans.
Local residents have expressed concerns about the growing number of superstores in the area and have asked the city to slow the expansion of the commercial district, as traffic has been getting increasingly congested during shopping hours. However, there is still ample open space left for development that allows for more stores in the future since the road has been completed. In addition, the nearby Boulevard des Allumettières (formerly Boulevard de l'Outaouais), also known as the Highway 50/148 extension, gives eastern residents of the city much faster and easier access to the big-box stores in the area which would add to traffic congestion. Boulevard des Grives has been extended to the 148 to help reduce congestion.
As of 2006, community has entered the Aylmer sector, and its population is expected to approach the 15,000-20,000 range.

Boulevard Maloney is one of Gatineau's main commercial roads. It starts at Autoroute 50 via an incomplete interchange and ends at the boundary with the former city of Masson-Angers. The Rapibus is a bus rapid transit system for the Société de Transport de l'Outaouais (STO) in the city of Gatineau, Quebec. Construction was completed in the summer of 2013 with service beginning in the fall. The Rapibus aims to speed up the service for commuters in growing sub-divisions in the northern and eastern areas of the city by alleviating the congestion on key arteries currently served by bus-designated lanes. It starts as the extension of Boulevard Greber in the old city of Gatineau and ends at the entrance of the downtown core where it becomes Boulevard Maisonneuve which connects the Portage Bridge towards Ottawa. It was once part of Route 148 until the Quebec Ministry of Transportation rerouted the provincial highway onto Autoroute 50 and Autoroute 5 as a concurrency.

Boulevard de la Cité-des-Jeunes is a major road in the city of Gatineau, Quebec. It begins on the northwestern outskirts of the city, where Chemin de la Mine becomes Boulevard de la Cité-des-Jeunes, and runs mainly to the southeast, along the eastern boundary of Gatineau Park. The Boulevard later becomes Promenade du Lac des Fees after meeting with Boulevard Saint-Raymond near the hospital. From the south end and travelling in the other direction, the roadway begins at Boulevard Saint-Joseph as two one-way streets, becomes Promenade du Lac des Fees followed by Boulevard de la Cité-des-Jeunes and chemin de la Mine, which ends at Chemin Notch inside Gatineau Park.
Route 148 is an east-west highway in Quebec, Canada. It runs from junction of Autoroute 13 and Autoroute 440 in Laval in the Montreal region to the Ontario-Quebec border in L'Isle-aux-Allumettes in western Quebec. For most of its length, Route 148 follows the north shore of the Ottawa River where it acted as the principal route between communities in the Outaouais region until the completion of Autoroute 50 in 2012. At the Ontario-Quebec border in L'Isle-aux-Allumettes Route 148 continues into Ontario as Highway 148.
The Gatineau LRT is a planned 26 km light rail system proposed by the Ville de Gatineau to be located in Gatineau, Quebec as well as Ottawa, Ontario. The system will be operated by Société de transport de l'Outaouais (STO), Gatineau's public transportation service. The system is planned to begin operation in 2028. Preliminary estimates put the cost of the project at CA$2.1 billion, though this estimate does not include the Ottawa portion. The Ville de Gatineau is looking to the Government of Quebec to fund 60 percent of the project and for the Canadian federal government to fund 40 percent of the project, though neither have yet committed to funding the project.
