CMR University hosts academic initiatives and industry-linked programmes related to emerging technologies and innovation. In May 2023, CMR University hosted a global open innovation challenge focused on urban sustainability, bringing together international participants and researchers. [11] In July 2025, CMR University hosted the launch of the India chapter of the Global Design Thinking Alliance (GDTA), bringing together design-thinking leaders from academia and industry. [12] In September 2025, CMR University launched new undergraduate programmes and a DGCA-certified drone pilot training initiative at its Bengaluru campus. [13]
