Talukina Ramaswamayya Subba Rao (1920–1984), popularly known as TaRaSu, was an Indian novelist and a scholar in the Kannada-language. He is considered as a harbinger of the Navya movement of Kannada literature. He is well known for his novels like Durgashtamana, which won him the Sahitya Akademi award posthumously in 1985.
Bangaarada Manushya is a 1972 Indian Kannada language film based on T. K. Rama Rao's novel of same name. Ramarao was known for his crime and detective novels, but this film was a social drama. It was directed by S. Siddalingaiah under the banner Srinidhi Productions. Prior to this, Siddalingaiah had worked with Rajkumar in Mayor Muthanna. It stars Rajkumar and Bharathi. The film was screened for over two years at the States Theatre in Bangalore and was screened for sixty weeks in Chamundeshwari theatre in Mysore, the film Completed one year in many centres and twenty five weeks in every major and minor centre. The movie saw a 25 weeks run when it was re-released in 1988.

Satya Harischandra is a 1965 Indian Kannada epic film directed by Hunsur Krishnamurthy and produced by K. V. Reddy. It stars Dr. Rajkumar in the lead role, as Harishchandra, an Indian mythological king, who was renowned for upholding truth and justice under any circumstance. The film is based on poet Raghavanka's work, Harishchandra Kavya. The supporting cast features Udaykumar, Pandari Bai, Narasimharaju, M. P. Shankar, K. S. Ashwath and Baby Padmini. This was the second Kannada movie based on king Harishchandra, the first one being the 1943 movie Satya Harishchandra.
Advani Lakshmi Devi is a retired Indian actress known for her work in Kannada cinema. She has played a variety of roles such as heroine, vamp, mother, grandmother in hundreds of Kannada movies over the last 50 years. Her role in films Gandhada Gudi (1973) and Sri Srinivasa Kalyana (1974) as mother is much remembered. She is the mother of veteran actress Roopadevi who acted in many Kannada movies with Rajkumar such as Haalu Jenu (1982), Samayada Gombe (1984) and Yarivanu (1984). Rajkumar holds the distinction of having played hero and son's role with her. Rajkumar] holds the distinction of having played the hero to both Roopadevi and her mother Advani Lakshmi Devi. Lakshmi Devi recently honoured with Rajkumar lifetime achievement award 2016 by the state government of Karnataka.
Vidyasagar, known by his stage name Rajesh, was an Indian actor who appeared in Kannada films. Known as 'Kala Thapaswi', Rajesh was an ardent fan of literature. He appeared in many films as the lead in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and later on gravitated to strong character roles. He is the father of film actress Aasha Rani who acted in Rathasapthami with Shivrajkumar and the father-in-law of popular Kannada and Tamil actor Arjun Sarja.

He, along with Kalyan Kumar and Rajkumar, were called the Kumarathrayaru of Kannada cinema He has authored many dramas and books. He has performed a broad range of roles and worked with all of the prominent actors of his day. He portrayed heroic characters early in his career later it became more nuanced villainous characters, often counterpointing Rajkumar's heroic persona in historicals and mythologicals.
Rajasree, also known as Rajasri or Rajashri, is an Indian actress active from 1956 to 1979. She is particularly famous for her portrayal as a princess in several folklore Telugu movies opposite N. T. Rama Rao and Tadepalli Lakshmi Kanta Rao and for acting alongside Ravichandran in the Tamil comedy films Neeyum Naanum, Kadhalikka Neram Illai and Delhi Mappilai. Notable among Rajasri's roles in non-folklore social films in Tamil are as Nimmi in the Tamil hit comedy film Kaadhalikka Neramillai, remade as Preminchi Choodu in Telugu, as movie star Bhama in Tamil film Bama Vijayam. She was credited as Gracy in the Malayalam movies she starred in her career since her debut film Bharya (1962), directed by Kunchako. Rajasree went on to do 200 films spread across the languages – Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi from beginning of 1956 to 1979.

The film was produced by actor Vadiraj and Jawahar for Sri Bharathi Chitra studio house. The film starred Dr. Rajkumar and Harini along with Kalpana and Udaykumar playing guest roles. Actor Dinesh made his debut through this film in a supporting role.
Mantralaya Mahatme is a 1966 Indian Kannada-language film directed by T. V. Singh Thakur, based on the book Sri Raghavendra Vijaya written by Rajaguru Rajacharya, and stars Rajkumar in the role of Raghavendra Swami, a Hindu saint who lived in the 17th century India. Udaykumar, Jayanthi and Kalpana appear in pivotal roles in the film. Dorai–Bhagavan were extensively involved in the production and direction department of this movie. The film is being colorised in wide-screen and set to release in 2022.

The film was released under Chitrashree International banner and produced by K S Prasad, B V Srinivas and A S Bhakthavathsalam. It was remade in Telugu as Manchivadu, in Hindi as Humshakal and in Tamil as Oorukku Uzhaippavan.
Baala Bandhana is a 1971 Indian Kannada language romantic drama film, directed by Peketi Sivaram. It stars Rajkumar and Jayanthi. It was produced under ALS Productions. It had a very successful soundtrack composed by G. K. Venkatesh. The film was a remake of 1953 Bengali film Jog Biyog which was based on the novel of same name by Ashapurna Devi. Though a hit, it could not meet the success of the Tamil and Telugu remake versions of the same Bengali movie.

Ravichandran, son of the film producer Veerasamy, appeared in the film as a child artist. The film swept 5 awards at the 1970-71 Karnataka State Film Awards including the best film, best actor, and best editor categories.
