Chongos Alto District is one of twenty-eight districts of the province Huancayo in Peru. [1] Is located in the Department of Junin, part of the Junín Region.
The districts of Peru are the third-level country subdivisions of Peru. They are subdivisions of the provinces, which in turn are subdivisions of the larger regions or departments. There are 1,838 districts in total.
Huancayo Province is located in Peru. It is one of the 9 provinces composing the Junín Region. It borders to the north with the Concepción Province, the east with the Satipo Province, the south with the Huancavelica Region and the west with the Chupaca Province. The province has an approximate population of 545,615 inhabitants. The capital of the province is the city of Huancayo.

Inti Wañunan is a mountain in the Andes of Peru, about 4,600 m (15,092 ft) high. It is situated in the Huancavelica Region, Huancavelica Province, Acobambilla District, and in the Junín Region, Huancayo Province, Chongos Alto District. Kapillayuq is a 5,129-metre-high (16,827 ft) mountain in the Andes of Peru. It is located in the Junín Region, Huancayo Province, Chongos Alto District. Kapillayuq lies east of Walsa and west of the lake named Ñawinqucha. Puka is a 4,993-metre-high (16,381 ft) mountain in the Andes of Peru. The largest lakes of the district are Aqchiqucha, Quylluqucha, Walsaqucha, Wich'iqucha, Yuraqqucha and Ñawinqucha [2] some of which belong to the largest lakes of Peru.

Ñawinqucha is a lake in Peru located in the Junín Region, Huancayo Province, Chongos Alto District. It is situated at a height of approximately 4,592 metres (15,066 ft), about 2.25 km long and 0.64 km at its widest point. Ñawinqucha lies southeast of Yuraqqucha and northeast of Aqchiqucha. It belongs to the watershed of the Mantaro River.

Yurajcocha, Tintayari or Huampuni is a lake in Peru located in the Junín Region, Huancayo Province, Chongos Alto District. It is situated at a height of approximately 4,466 metres (14,652 ft), about 5 km long and 0.84 km at its widest point. Yurajcocha lies north of Acchicocha and northeast of Huichicocha. The lake belongs to the watershed of the Mantaro River.
Coyllococha is a lake in Peru located in the Junín Region, Huancayo Province, Chongos Alto District. It is situated at a height of approximately 4,683 metres (15,364 ft), about 4.15 km long and 1.45 km at its widest point. Coyllococha lies southwest of Yurajcocha and Huichicocha. It belongs to the watershed of the Mantaro River.
Yana Ucsha is a ridge in the Huaytapallana mountain range in the Andes of Peru, about 5,300 metres (17,388 ft) high. It is also the name of a small lake at its feet at 11°55′58″S75°2′30″W.
Putkaqucha is a 5,236-metre-high (17,178 ft) mountain in the Waytapallana mountain range in Peru. It is located in the Junín Region, Concepción Province, Comas District, and in the Huancayo Province, on the border of the districts of El Tambo and Quilcas.
