Commander Central Punjab (COMCEP) R/ADM Jawad Ahmed

Commander Central Punjab (abbreviated COMCEP [1] ), is a military formation of the Pakistan Navy in the Northern Pakistan, covering the area of responsibility (AOR) of defending the Punjab Province. [2] [3] It is headquartered in PNS PUNJAB in Lahore, Punjab Province of Pakistan. The command is usually held by a senior flag officer of Rear Admiral rank. [1] [4] Commander Central Punjab reports to the Vice Chief of the Naval Staff of its respected command.

The COMCEP is mandated to "ensure excellence in training and provide conducive and secure working environment for units in AoR through efficient logistic and admin support system along with looking after PN interest in AoR." Its units include the Pakistan Navy War College and PNS PUNJAB. [2]

The Indo-Pakistani Naval War of 1971 refers to the maritime military engagements between the Indian Navy and the Pakistan Navy during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. The series of naval operations began with the Indian Navy's exertion of pressure on Pakistan from the Indian Ocean, while the Indian Army and Indian Air Force moved in to choke Pakistani forces operating in East Pakistan on land. The Pakistan Navy Logistics Command is one of the six principal commands-in-field of the Pakistan Navy, operating under the authority of the Commander Logistics (COMLOG), a role held by a flag officer. It manages logistics, engineering, and the naval resources allocation. It is also responsible for economical and ancillary support with a prime focus on transportation and maintenance of naval assets, including weapons, ammunition, and victuals، to the fleet and the all naval units in the country. The command also contributes to the modernization, repair, rebuilding, and construction of ships and submarines, including both independent operations and collaborations with designated yards for shipbuilding and repairs.
