Bon Air is a census-designated place (CDP) in Chesterfield County,Virginia,United States. The population was 18,022 at the 2020 census. The community is considered a suburb of the independent city of Richmond in the Richmond-Petersburg region and is a part of the Southside neighborhoods. Originally developed as a resort,a central portion of Bon Air has been designated as a National Historic District with many structures of Victorian design from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Its name means "good air," reflecting its role as a resort getaway that wealthy Richmonders enjoyed for its fresh air as opposed to the dirty air of Richmond's industrial downtown of the late 19th century.

Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS),part of the Macon and Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University,commonly known as Virginia Health Sciences,is a public medical school in Norfolk,Virginia operated by Old Dominion University. Founded by grassroots efforts in the Southeastern part of Virginia known as Hampton Roads,EVMS had historically not been affiliated with an undergraduate institution and therefore coordinates training through multiple medical centers in the Hampton Roads region. Effective on July 1,2024,the nearby Old Dominion University merged with EVMS to create a comprehensive university with EVMS being the medical school component of the larger university.

Joseph H. Seipel was an American sculptor and conceptual artist who was formerly the Dean of the VCU School of the Arts. He was a member of the VCU faculty for over 40 years. As Dean of VCU arts,he also had oversight of the VCU School of the Arts branch in Doha,Qatar. He administered VCU exchange programs with art and design schools in Finland,India,Israel and Korea. He retired in 2016. He died on June 12,2024.

Eppa Hunton III,known as Eppa Hunton Jr.,was an American lawyer,railroad executive,and politician. The son of Confederate general Eppa Hunton,he experienced a turbulent childhood with the American Civil War and Reconstruction as its backdrop. After graduating from the University of Virginia School of Law,he practiced law with his father in Warrenton,Virginia,for a number of years before moving south to Richmond in 1901 to help found the law firm Munford,Hunton,Williams &Anderson.
The 2024 Richmond mayoral election took place on November 5,2024,to elect the mayor of Richmond,Virginia. The election was won by Danny Avula who will take office as the city's 81st mayor in January 2025. He will become the city's first immigrant mayor.
In January 2025,the city of Richmond,Virginia and its surrounding localities suffered water distribution outages due to a blizzard,which impacted much of the United States. The issues started on the morning of Monday,January 6,and were mostly resolved by Saturday,January 11. The localities' water systems are interconnected,meaning that problems in Richmond City led to problems across the region. Richmond was the most impacted,followed by Henrico to the immediate north. Henrico is bordered on the north by Hanover County and on the east by Goochland County,which also faced some impacts. Chesterfield County,to the south of Richmond,was impacted very little,as they were able to effectively switch water sources and have very few customers who directly receive water from the city.
