Diann Roffe (born March 24, 1967), also known as Diann Roffe-Steinrotter, is a former World Cup-winning alpine ski racer and Olympic gold medalist from the United States. [1]
Roffe was born in Warsaw, New York, and learned to ski at Brantling Ski Center near Rochester, New York. [2]
Roffe placed 8th in the FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup giant slalom (GS) race on March 7, 1984, at Lake Placid, and placed 9th in the same discipline on December 15, 1984, at Madonna di Campiglio. She won a gold medal in the GS event at the 1985 World Championships in Bormio, Italy at age 17.
Roffe also won the silver medal (tying with Anita Wachter) in the GS event at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France.
Roffe won the Super-G (SG) event at the 1994 Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway. She took first place in the SG event at the 1994 World Cup Finals in Vail, Colorado. [3]
She had season-ending knee injuries in 1986 and 1991. [2]
Roffe was inducted into the National Ski Hall of Fame in 2003. [4]

Debra Rae "Debbie" Armstrong is a former World Cup alpine ski racer from Seattle, Washington. She was the first Olympic gold medalist from the U.S. in women's alpine skiing in twelve years, winning the giant slalom at the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia.
Michaela Dorfmeister is an Austrian former alpine ski racer who competed in the Olympic Games and World Cup. Her specialities were both the downhill and the super-G disciplines, although she skied in and had success in giant slalom.

Kjetil Jansrud is a Norwegian former World Cup alpine ski racer and Olympic champion. Since 2012, he had concentrated on the speed events, where all but two of his World Cup victories had come. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, he won the super-G and placed third in the downhill. At the World Championships in 2019 at Åre, Jansrud won gold in the downhill.

Ester Ledecká is a Czech snowboarder and alpine skier. At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, Ledecká won gold medals in the super-G in alpine skiing and in the parallel giant slalom in snowboarding, becoming the first person to not only compete in the Winter Olympics using two different types of equipment but to go further and win two gold medals and do so at the same Winter Olympics. She was the second woman to win an Olympic gold in two separate disciplines but the first to do so at the same Winter Olympics. She was the first Czech to win the parallel giant slalom in snowboarding at the FIS Snowboard World Cup.
