Drepanosiphum platanoidis is a species of insect, commonly known as the sycamore aphid. [2] It undergoes both parthenogenic and sexual reproduction. [3]
Sycamore is a city in DeKalb County, Illinois, United States. It has a commercial district based and centered on Illinois Route 64. The population was 18,577 at the 2020 census, up from 17,519 at the 2010 census. Sycamore is the county seat of DeKalb County and was named after the sycamore tree.

The group includes the fluffy white woolly aphids. USCGC Sycamore (WLB-209) is a United States Coast Guard seagoing buoy tender, the second of her name and the ninth of the Juniper-class. She is now home-ported in Newport, Rhode Island, following a one year long Midlife Maintenance Availability (MMA) in Baltimore, Maryland. She was originally home-ported in Cordova, Alaska. Sycamore primarily tends to aids-to-navigation (ATON) in Martha's Vineyard, the Long Island Sound, Hudson River, and New York City Harbor and entrances; however she is also responsible for maintenance support of National Data Buoy Center's offshore weather buoys. In addition to her primary ATON role, Sycamore also performs other duties, such as, marine environmental protection, maritime law enforcement, domestic icebreaking, search and rescue, and homeland security missions.

The Bishop Sycamore Centurions were an American football team based in Columbus, Ohio. They purported to be the high school football team of Bishop Sycamore High School. The high school was advertised as an athletic sports training academy; however, after a blowout loss to IMG Academy that was televised on ESPN on August 29, 2021, there was increased scrutiny and investigation into the school's existence. This investigation included uncovering the identities and credentials of the team's administration. A former executive for the Ohio High School Athletic Association came forward to say that after three years of investigating the school, he was convinced that it was a "scam". A report published in December 2021 by the Ohio Department of Education concluded that the school was found to be operating as a scam.
