The FIVB Beach Volleyball U19 World Championships (previously known as the FIVB Beach Volleyball Swatch Youth World Championships) [1] is a double-gender international beach volleyball tournament for athletes under the age of 19. The competition first took place in Xylokastro, Greece, in 2002. [2] [3] Prior to the 2005 edition, it was an under-18 tournament. [4]

Beach volleyball is a team sport played by two teams of two players each on a sand court divided by a net. Similar to indoor volleyball, the objective of the game is to send the ball over the net and to ground it on the opponent's side of the court. Each team also works in unison to prevent the opposing team from grounding the ball on their side of the court.
The Fédération Internationale de Volleyball, commonly known by the acronym FIVB, is the international governing body for all forms of volleyball. Its headquarters are located in Lausanne, Switzerland, and its current president is Ary Graça of Brazil.

She is also the 2011 European champion and the 2013 Mediterranean Games champion, both achieved with Cicolari. Menegatti represented Italy at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics, finishing fifth and ninth respectively.

Nina Brunner is a Swiss professional beach volleyball player who plays as a right side defender with her partner Tanja Hüberli. She is a two-time European Champion, winning the title in 2021 and 2023, the silver medallist at the 2018 and 2022 European Championships, and the bronze medalist at the 2024 Summer Olympics. With her former partner Nicole Eiholzer, she won the gold medal at the first ever European Games in 2015. Alongside Hüberli, Betschart has won combined total of 3 gold, 4 silver and 6 bronze medals on FIVB World Tour and its successor Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour. Betschart / Hüberli team represented Switzerland at the 2020 Summer Olympics where they finished in ninth place and played a pivotal role at their country's triumph in the women's event of the inaugural CEV Beach Volleyball Nations Cup in 2022. They achieved a career-high World ranking of No. 2 in November 2021.

Starts in late August 2018 after the end of the year season, the 2019 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Calendar comprised by three FIVB World Tour 5-star tournaments, twelve FIVB World Tour 4-star, five 3-star, eight 2-star and twenty-seven 1-star event, all organised by the FIVB. The World Championships will be held in Hamburg, Germany from June 28 to July 7, 2019.

Starts in late early October 2019, the 2020 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Calendar comprised by two FIVB World Tour 4-star tournaments, one 3-star, two 2-star and eleven 1-star event, all organised by the FIVB. Several events were postponed or canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic.
The FIVB Youth and Junior World Rankings is a ranking system for men's and women's age-group national teams in volleyball. The teams of the member nations of Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB), volleyball's world governing body, are ranked based on their ranking in each FIVB appointed international tournaments, like the previous senior world ranking system. The rankings are used in international competitions to define the seeded teams and arrange them in pools. Specific procedures for seeding and pooling are established by the FIVB in each competition's formula, but the method usually employed is the serpentine system.
