Fleming is a city in Ray County, Missouri, and part of the Kansas City metropolitan area within the United States. The population was 114 at the 2020 census. [4]
A post office called Fleming was established in 1888, and remained in operation until 1905. [5] The community has the name of Alfred Walton Fleming, a businessperson in the local mining industry. [6]
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.54 square miles (1.40 km2), all land. [7]

There were 51 households, of which 33.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.8% were married couples living together, 13.7% had a female householder with no husband present, 3.9% had a male householder with no wife present, and 21.6% were non-families. 19.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 7.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.51 and the average family size was 2.85.
