Muangthong United Football Club is a Thai professional football club based in Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi Province. The club plays in the Thai League 1. Muangthong United has participated in the Thai Premier League since 2009 after having won the Thai Division 1 League title in 2008.

2012 Thai Premier League is the 16th season of the Thai Premier League since its establishment in 1996. A total of 18 teams are competing in the league.

Buriram United F.C. Thai football club

Buriram United Football Club is a professional football club based in Buriram, Thailand. The club has played at the top level of Thai football for the majority of their existence and is competing in the Thai League 1. The club was founded in 1970 as PEA FC before reformed in to Buriram PEA then Buriram United in 2010 and 2012 respectively. Their home stadium is Chang Arena which has a capacity of 32,600.

A total of seven clubs represented Thailand in the AFC Asian Club Championship which became defunct in 2002 (see: AFC Champions League).

AFC Champions League annual Asian club football competition

The AFC Champions League, commonly known as the Asian Champions League, is an annual continental club football competition organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Introduced in 2002, the competition is a continuation of the Asian Club Championship which had started in 1967. It is the premier club tournament in Asia, equivalent to the CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores, and the UEFA, CAF, CONCACAF and OFC Champions League competitions.

The Asian Cup Winner Cup started in 1991, although Thai clubs did not enter until 1995. There was no Thai entrant in 1997. The competition became defunct in 2002. Thai clubs generally entered at the 2nd round.

Thai League 1

The Thai League 1, commonly known as the T1, is a Thai professional league for Football Association of Thailand clubs. At the top of the Thai football league system, it is the country's premier football competition. Contested by 16 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with Thai League 2.
