Gibraltar Hill is situated 3.8 kilometres (2.4 mi) east of Bungendore, New South Wales, Australia. [1] [2] [3] The Capital Wind Farm at Bungendore is visible from the hill, and, according to Australian naval officer Stacey Porter, the view makes "a really nice outlook." [4] [ unbalanced opinion? ]
In 1840, Jackey Jackey created a hide-out on the hill overlooking Bungendore. [5]

Tarago is a town in the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales, Australia in Goulburn Mulwaree Council. Jackey Jackey (1833–1854) is the name by which Galmahra(a.k.a. Galmarra), the Aboriginal Australian guide and companion to surveyor Edmund Kennedy was known. He survived Edmund Kennedy's fatal 1848 expedition into Cape York Peninsula and was subsequently formally recognized for heroic deeds by the then colony of New South Wales in words engraved on a solid silver breastplate or gorget which read as follows:

The Gibraltar Range is a mountain range in the Northern Tablelands region of New South Wales, Australia. The range extends off the Great Dividing Range at Bald Nob about 25 kilometres (16 mi) east northeast of Glen Innes and trends generally east northeast and north northeast for about 100 kilometres (62 mi) to the junction of Timbarra and Clarence rivers.
