  1. It has been reported that Salvador came to the U.S. through the Bracero program which was established in 1942; Gonzalo's brother Raul says their father became a legal resident prior to the arrival of their mother Francisca in 1946. [3] Raul has also reportedly said that Salvador arrived in the U.S. in the 1920s. [2]
