Harmochirus is a genus of the spider family Salticidae (jumping spiders). [1]
This small genus is very close to Bianor ; it seems to replace it where Bianor itself is missing, especially in rainforest habitats. [2]
As of March 2017 [update] , the World Spider Catalog accepted the following species: [1]
Attulus is a genus of jumping spiders that was first described by Eugène Louis Simon in 1889. The name is a diminutive form of a common prefix for salticid genera, -attus.
Bianor is a genus of boreal jumping spiders that can grow to 3 and 4 mm. The robust shiny body and northerly distribution are distinctive. Males can be easily recognized by his swollen forelegs and females have orange legs. It was first described by George and Elizabeth Peckham in 1886, who names it after the mythical son of Hercules.
Evarcha is a genus of spiders in the family Salticidae with 85 species distributed across the world.
Hispo is a genus of the spider family Salticidae.
Hyllus is a genus of the spider family Salticidae.
Langona is a spider genus of the family Salticidae (jumping spiders).
Napoca insignis is a species of the jumping spiders found in Israel.
Pellenes is a genus of jumping spiders that was first described by Eugène Louis Simon in 1876. It is considered a senior synonym of Hyllothyene.
Pseudicius is a genus of the jumping spiders first described by Eugène Simon in 1885. The name is combined of Greek pseudo "false" and the salticid genus name Icius. The small genus Wesolowskana should possibly be included in this genus. There is some dispute whether Afraflacilla is a distinct genus or should be included in Pseudicius. Festucula and Marchena are other close relatives, these genera form a monophyletic group.
Rhene is a spider genus of the family Salticidae.
Sibianor is a genus of jumping spiders that was first described by D. V. Logunov in 2001. They are closely related to Bianor.
Stenaelurillus is a genus of jumping spiders that was first described by Eugène Louis Simon in 1886. Most species live in Africa, with some species found in Asia, including China. All species have two white longitudinal stripes on the carapace, and both sexes show strong bristles around the eyes. The name is a combination of the Greek sten- "narrow" and the salticid genus Aelurillus.
Zygoballus is a genus of jumping spiders found in North and South America.
The Plexippini are a tribe of jumping spiders (Salticidae). They have also been treated as the subfamily Plexippinae. They are native to the Old World.
Marusyllus is a genus of spiders in the family Salticidae, found in Russia, Central Asia, the Indian subcontinent and China.
Sibianor nigriculus is a jumping spider species that lives in Japan, Korea and Russia. The species was originally identified in 1992 and placed in the genus Harmochirus but was moved to Sibianor when that genus was established in 2000. Sibianor nigriculus is closely related to Sibianor aurocinctus and Sibianor turkestanicus, which makes the spiders hard to distinguish, particularly the females of S. aurocinctus and S. nigriculus.
Pellenes marionis is a species of jumping spiders. They are found in the island of Sal, Cape Verde. The species was first described by Joachim Schmidt and Otto Krause in 1994 as Bianor marionis. It was transferred to the genus Pellenes by D. V. Logunov in 2001.
Harmochirus luculentus is a species of spiders in the family Salticidae. It is found in Africa, Zanzibar and Yemen.
Napoca is a genus of jumping spiders that was first described by Eugène Louis Simon in 1901. As of July 2019 it contains only two species, found only in Israel and Spain: N. constanzeae and N. insignis. It is one of seven genera comprising the Harmochireae clade within the Dendryphantinae subfamily.
