The View are a Scottish indie rock band that formed in Dundee, Angus in 2005. They incorporate various styles such as punk, pop, alternative rock, and folk in their music. They are best known for their 2007 single "Same Jeans" which reached number 3 on the UK Singles Chart.
"Wasted Little DJs" is the debut single of Dundee indie band the View, taken from their first album, Hats Off to the Buskers (2007). Before its physical release on 7 August 2006, the single had reached number 73 on the UK Singles Chart on downloads only before climbing up to number 15 the following week. It spent two more weeks in the UK top 40 before dropping out altogether. In the band's native Scotland, the song reached number one on the Scottish Singles Chart.
"Same Jeans" is the third single by Dundee band the View, appearing on their debut album, Hats Off to the Buskers (2007). It was Radio 1's Jo Whiley's record of the week commencing 27 November 2006 and was released on 15 January 2007. Sound of Silver was produced by the DFA and recorded during 2006 at Long View Farm in North Brookfield, Massachusetts and DFA Studios in New York City, New York.
Kyle Francis Falconer is a Scottish musician, singer and songwriter. He is best known as the lead vocalist of The View. Along with the other band members, Falconer hails from the Dryburgh district of Dundee. He shares songwriting responsibilities with bass guitarist Kieren Webster.
Kieren Clark Webster is the bass guitarist and occasional lead vocalist for Scottish band The View; he is also the lead vocalist for band WEB. On 27 March 2020 WEB released their first single 'Haze'. Along with frontman Kyle Falconer, he writes the majority of The View's material. In 2006, he was placed 6th in NME's Cool List. He and Falconer alternate roles on some songs such as "Skag Trendy", "Gran's for Tea", "One Off Pretender", "Realisation", "Fireworks and Flowers", "Hole in the Bed" and "Cracks", with Webster taking on guitar and lead vocals and Falconer replacing him as bass guitarist and backing vocalist. He and other band members are from the Dryburgh district of Dundee.
"The Don" is the fourth single by Dundee band The View, it was released on 23 April 2007 as a double A-side along with "Skag Trendy". It follows the singles "Wasted Little DJs", "Superstar Tradesman" and "Same Jeans", and is taken from the debut album Hats Off to the Buskers. The single did not do as well as its predecessors, only entering as far as the UK Top 40, reaching a disappointing #33 in the UK Singles Chart. However, this was to be their final UK Top 40 single so far as their next four singles were to miss the UK Top 40 altogether.

"The Only One" is a single by the British band The Cure which was released on 13 May 2008 on Geffen Records in the United Kingdom. The single was released in the United States on 20 May 2008. It is the first single to be released by The Cure in over three and a half years — their last single being 2004's "Taking Off" / "alt.end". It is also the first single from the 2008 album, 4:13 Dream. The single was produced by Robert Smith and Keith Uddin. The song debuted live on 7 October 2007 in Mountain View, California at a festival and was also played in Mexico City the next week. During that time, the song was known as "Please Project". It was not until early on in the European tour in early 2008 was "The Only One" established as the title.

Ropewalk is the fifth studio album by Scottish indie rock band the View. It was released on 4 September 2015 through Cooking Vinyl. The album was produced by Albert Hammond Jr. of The Strokes, and Gus Oberg, producer for the same band. Drew McConnell of Babyshambles introduced Kyle Falconer to the duo. The band chose to record the album at Clouds Hill studios, in Hamburg, Germany. Justin Gerrish, famous for his work with Vampire Weekend, produced the final mix in New York City.
Wasteland, Baby! is the second studio album by Irish musician Hozier, released on 1 March 2019 by Rubyworks Records. It is Hozier's first album since 2014. The album includes the songs "Nina Cried Power" and "Shrike" from the 2018 EP Nina Cried Power, as well as the single "Movement". It was promoted by a North American tour beginning in March 2019, and a European tour in late summer to fall 2019. Exorcism of Youth is the sixth studio album by Scottish indie rock band the View, released on 18 August 2023 through Cooking Vinyl. It is the band's first album in eight years, following Ropewalk (2015) and their five-year hiatus. It was inspired by the Killers' Pressure Machine (2020), which frontman Kyle Falconer listened to during COVID-19 lockdowns, as well as Sam Fender. The title of the album had derived from an essay written by band member Kieren Webster.
