The Tokyo Monorail, officially the Tokyo Monorail Haneda Airport Line, is a straddle-beam, Alweg-type monorail line in Tokyo, Japan. It is an airport rail link that connects Tokyo International Airport (Haneda) to Tokyo's Ōta, Shinagawa, and Minato wards. The 17.8-kilometer (11.1 mi) line serves 11 stations between the Monorail Hamamatsuchō and Haneda Airport Terminal 2 stations. It runs on a predominantly elevated north–south route that follows the western coast of Tokyo Bay. The monorail is operated by the Tokyo Monorail Co., Ltd., which is jointly owned by JR East, the system's rolling stock supplier Hitachi, and ANA Holdings, Inc.. It carried an average of 140,173 passengers per day in 2018.
The Tama Toshi Monorail Line, also referred to as the Tama Monorail, is a monorail system in Western Tokyo.

The Kitakyushu Monorail is a monorail system in the city of Kitakyushu in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan, operated by Kitakyushu Urban Monorail Co. Ltd., which is wholly owned by the Kitakyushu municipal government.
An elevated railway or elevated train is a railway with the tracks above street level on a viaduct or other elevated structure. The Okinawa Urban Monorail, also known as Yui Rail, is a monorail line serving the cities of Naha and Urasoe, Okinawa, Japan. Operated by Okinawa Urban Monorail, Inc., it opened on 10 August 2003, and is the only public rail system in Okinawa Prefecture. Yui Rail is the first rail line on Okinawa since World War II. As Okinawa is the island of Japan lying farthest to the south and west that has an active rail line, Akamine Station and Naha Airport Station, the southernmost and westernmost rail stations in Japan respectively, lie on this line. The line supports payment via paper tickets or OKICA, the local contactless smart card; additional support for the ten major Japanese IC cards began on 10 March 2020.
The Sentosa Express is a monorail line connecting Sentosa island to HarbourFront on the Singapore mainland. It was built at a cost of S$140 million to replace the previous Sentosa Monorail. Development began in June 2003 and construction works were completed in late 2006. The fully elevated 2.1-kilometre two-way line opened on 15 January 2007. The monorail system, privately owned by Sentosa Development Corporation and operated by Singapore Mass Rapid Transit, can move up to 4,000 passengers per hour per direction.

The monorail connects the Palm Jumeirah to the mainland, with a planned further extension to the Red Line of the Dubai Metro. The line opened on April 30, 2009. It is the first monorail in the Middle East.

Daegu Metro Line 3 is the third line in the Daegu Metro rapid transit system in Daegu, South Korea. It is operated by the Daegu Transit Corporation. Daegu Metro Line 3 is a monorail line, and Hitachi Monorail was contracted for the supply of monorail, track switches and signalling system. It is Korea's first straddle-type monorail system.
The Hitachi small-type monorail is a straddle-type monorail built by Hitachi Rail for the use on the Sentosa Express. These trains are part of Hitachi Monorail line of ALWEG-based monorail. The trains were part of a project to replace Sentosa's previous aging monorail system. The trains are fully air-conditioned.
