The IMOCA 60 Class yacht Apivia Mutuelle, FRA 79 was designed by Guillaume Verdier [1] and launched in 2019 after being built CDK Technologies based in Lorient, France. [2] The boat's initial skipper who is also a Naval Architect Charlie Dalin had significant input as did MerConcept the company headed by François Gabart.

Names and Ownership

Apivia (2018-2023)

The boat got line honours in the 2020-2021 Vendee Globe but was ranked second following redress given to fellow competitors.

Banque Populaire XII

In November 2021 the team formally announced the purchase of the boat following Apivia completing the 2021 Route du Rhum, with the team starting the handover by helping to return the boat to France. [3]

Banque Populaire chose to end its sponsorship, with Clarisse Crémer citing her young child as one of the reason the public backlash led to the sponsor withdrawing and Crémer quickly found a new sponsor with the support of Alex Thompson Racing. [4] [5]

The 2020–2021 Vendée Globe was a non-stop round the world yacht race for IMOCA 60 class yachts crewed by only one person. It was the ninth edition of the race, which started and finished in Les Sables-d'Olonne, France. The race began on 8 November 2020, with the first finishers completing the course on 27 January 2021 with the 25th and final yacht to complete the race arrived on 5 March 2021.

Charlie Dalin is a French offshore sailor. He placed first in the 10th edition of the quadrennial Vendée Globe race around the world that took place in 2024–2025 completing the race within a time of 64 days, 19 hours, 22 minutes and 49 seconds, smashing the previous record by 9 days, 8 hours, 12 minutes and 57 seconds. The edition before that he also finished second in the Vendée Globe race that took place in 2020–2021, with a time of 80 days, 6 hours, 15 minutes and 47 seconds. He covered 28,268 nautical miles at a race average of 14.67 knots. He has a Naval Architecture degree from the University of Southampton.

The 2012–2013 Vendée Globe was a non-stop solo Round the World Yacht Race for IMOCA 60 class yachts and the seventh edition of the race.

The 2024–2025 Vendée Globe is a non-stop round the world yacht race for IMOCA 60 class yachts crewed by only one person. It is the tenth edition of the race; it started, and will finish, in Les Sables-d'Olonne, France.
