India is one of the full members of the International Cricket Council (ICC), the governing body of cricket. The ICC Men's T20 World Cup has been hosted by the ICC in the T20I format since 2007. There have been nine editions of the tournament and India has participated in every edition. India have won it twice in 2007 and 2024 while also finishing as runners-up in 2014. [3] India won the 2024 World T20 without being defeated in the tournament, thus becoming the first team to do so. [4]

The 2023 ICC Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup was the first edition of the Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup, hosted by South Africa in 2023. The tournament was moved from its original slot at the end of 2021 to January 2023 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Sixteen teams competed in the tournament, initially divided into four groups.

The 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup was the ninth edition of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. It was co-hosted by the West Indies and the United States from 1 to 29 June 2024; the tournament was hosted by the West Indies for the second time, and it was also the first major ICC tournament to feature matches played in the United States.

The ICC Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup is an international cricket tournament organised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) contested by national women's under-19 teams. The first tournament took place in January 2023 in South Africa, with matches being played in the Twenty20 cricket format. India won the inaugural tournament, defeating England in the final.

The 2024 ICC Women's T20 World Cup is scheduled to be the ninth edition of ICC Women's T20 World Cup tournament. It was scheduled to be hosted in Bangladesh from 3 to 20 October 2024. However, it has now been relocated to the United Arab Emirates for the same dates due to ongoing political unrest in Bangladesh, although the Bangladesh Cricket Board still holds the hosting rights. Australia are the defending champions, having defeated South Africa in the final of the previous edition.

The 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup was the ninth edition of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup tournament. Twenty teams took part in the tournament. It was co-hosted by the West Indies and the United States from 1 to 29 June 2024. The final date for each squad submission was 1 May 2024, and the teams were allowed to make changes to their squads within 25 May 2024. The following squads were announced for the tournament.
