Kachin Theological College a nd Seminary (KTCS) is a member of the Association for Theological Education in South East Asia (ATESEA). It is located in Nawng Nang, Myitkyina, Kachin State, in the north of Myanmar. It is an evangelical school under Kachin Baptist Convention (KBC).

History

Kachin Theological College and Seminary was founded in 1932 by missionaries in Bhamo, Kachin State. [1] In 1935, the Bible School transferred to Kutkai, Northern Shan State, Course extended to 2 years. In, 1966 Bible School moved to the present campus situated in Nawng Nang, Myitkyina, Kachin State. The Diamond Jubilee (75th anniversary) celebration along with the 58th commencement service of the college will be held on March 24–30, 2008. [2]

Ola Hanson was a Swedish-American missionary who worked with the Kachin people in Burma. Hanson came to the United States in 1881, settling in Oakland, Nebraska. He attended the Swedish Baptist Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota, graduated from Madison Theological Seminary in Hamilton, New York, and was ordained in 1890.

Chin Christian University (CCU) is a Christian university in Hakha, Chin State, Burma. CCU is one of the departments of Chin Association of Christian Communication (CACC). After 25 years (1990-2015), God blessed Chin Christian College's long vision: "To Transform the College into a University" and the name of the institution was changed into Chin Christian University by the 9th Triennial Meeting of Chin Association of Christian Communication, held at Hakha Khuahlun Baptist Church on April 4, 2015.

Technological University, Myitkyina is located in Kachin State, Myitkyina City, Myanmar. On 1 September 1997, the high school was upgraded to the Government Technical Institute (G.T.I) level and then on 2 October 1999, it became the Government Technological Colleges (G.T.C) level. On 20 January 2007, it was again upgraded from College to University. On 28 April 2006, transfer to Swe Aike Quarter, Panmtee village and open the new Technological University with the three stories building.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">George J. Geis</span> American Baptist minister and anthropologist

The Reverend George J. Geis was an American Baptist minister and anthropologist of German descent, best known for his missionary work in northeastern Burma. He promoted Christianity amongst the Kachin people, a group which he also studied, collecting general ethnographical data about them. He arrived in Burma with his wife in 1892, and spent most of the rest of his life there, establishing missions throughout Kachin State and Shan State. Geis is best known for his work in Myitkyina in Kachin State, but in the 1930s he established a mission in Kutkai in Shan State, and at the time of his death in 1936 was working there at the Kachin Bible Training School.
