Taungoo Educational College

Taungoo Educational College is located at Taungoo, Bago Division, Myanmar. Formerly it was the Convent High School under the Taungoo, Roman Catholic Diocese. After nationalization, it became Teacher's Training College. In 2000, the named has been changed to Taungoo Educational College and the government upgraded the level. Primarily a teacher training college, the college offers bachelor's and master's in education to the country's prospective primary, secondary and tertiary school teachers.

The educational system of Myanmar is operated by the government Ministry of Education. The education system is based on the United Kingdom's system, due to nearly a century of British and Christian presences in Burma. "The first Government high school was founded by the British colonial administration in 1874. Two years later, this Government High School was upgraded and became University College, Rangoon." Nearly all schools are government-operated, but recently, there has been an increase in privately funded schools. In Myanmar, schooling is compulsory until the end of elementary school, probably about 9 years old. However the international standard for schooling is 15 to 16 years old.

Taungoo City in Bago Region, Myanmar

Taungoo is a district-level city in the Bago Region of Myanmar, 220 km from Yangon, towards the north-eastern end of the division, with mountain ranges to the east and west. The main industry is in forestry products, with teak and other hardwoods extracted from the mountains. The city is known for its areca palms, to the extent that a Burmese proverb for unexpected good fortune is equated to a "betel lover winning a trip to Taungoo".

The National Museum of Myanmar (Yangon),, located in Dagon, Yangon, is the major one of the two national museums for Burmese art, history and culture in Myanmar. Founded in 1952, the five-story museum has an extensive collection of ancient artifacts, ornaments, works of art, inscriptions and historic memorabilia, related to history, culture and civilization of Burmese people. The main attraction of the museum is the only surviving original Lion Throne of the Burmese monarchs. There are more than 4000 permanent objects in the museum.

Basic Education High School No. 5 Taungoo ( is a public high school located in Taungoo, Bago Division, Myanmar. It used to be known Paku Karen High School runs by Paku Karen Baptist Association. In 1965, the school was nationalized and become No.5 State High School, Taungoo. The school is situated on Myogyi Road. The school has 80 full-time teachers and 1,000 students. The school offers a variety of sports for both girls and boys to compete in varsity and junior varsity levels.

The British School Yangon Private international school in Yangon, Yangon Region, Myanmar

The British School Yangon (BSY) is a private international school based on the British curriculum, located in the city of Yangon, Myanmar. The school currently provides schooling to students aged 3-16 and accepted its first Sixth Form cohort in August 2020.
