The following is a comprehensive list of universities in Myanmar , categorised by state and region. [1] [2] Nearly all major and national universities in Myanmar are in Yangon Region and Mandalay Region. The Burmese higher education system is entirely state-run, and its universities and colleges are organised along their fields of studies. The country's 150-plus universities and colleges are administered by various government ministries. For example, liberal arts and science universities such as Yangon University and Mandalay University, and technological universities are run by the Ministry of Education, [2] the medical schools are run by the Ministry of Health, [3] Private colleges offer international joint diploma to the residents in some fields such as engineering, computing, and Business administration.

Along with the University of Computer Studies, Mandalay, UCSY is one of two premier universities specializing in computer studies, and also one of the most selective universities in the country.

The Yangon University of Education, located in Kamayut, Yangon, is the premier university of education in Myanmar. Primarily a teacher training college, the institute offers bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree programs in education to the country's prospective primary, secondary and tertiary school teachers. Its training high school known as TTC is considered one of the best high schools in the country.

Rail transport in Myanmar began in 1877. Three private rail companies were nationalised nineteen years later. During the Japanese occupation of Burma, Allied prisoners of war were forced to build the Burma Railway. Myanmar Railways has expanded its network somewhat since 1988.

The University of Computer Studies, Mandalay (UCSM), located in Mandalay, is a Myanmar IT and computer science university. UCSM offers bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree programs in computer science and technology. The majority of its student body is from Upper Myanmar. Administered by the Ministry of Education, UCSM is the official university for all the Government Computer Colleges in Upper Myanmar, whose students may continue their advanced studies at UCSM.

The University of Distance Education, Mandalay, located in Mandalay, is one of two universities under the University of Distance Education system in Myanmar. With over 500,000 students mostly studying liberal arts and economics, the UDE system is the largest university in Myanmar. The Mandalay university serves distance education students in Upper Myanmar whereas the University of Distance Education, Yangon serves Lower Myanmar.

The Sagaing University of Education, formerly known as Mandalay Institute of Education or Sagaing Institute of Education located in Sagaing, Sagaing Region, is one of two senior universities of education in Myanmar. Primarily began as a teacher training college in Mandalay, the university currently offers Bachelor of Education, Master of Education, MPhil, Doctor of Philosophy and Post Graduate Diploma in Multimedia Arts (PGDMA) degree programs in education to the prospective primary and secondary school teachers.

Taungoo Educational College is located at Taungoo, Bago Division, Myanmar. Formerly it was the Convent High School under the Taungoo, Roman Catholic Diocese. After nationalization, it became Teacher's Training College. In 2000, the named has been changed to Taungoo Educational College and the government upgraded the level. Primarily a teacher training college, the college offers bachelor's and master's in education to the country's prospective primary, secondary and tertiary school teachers.

The Myanmar Army Medical Corps (MAMC) is a specialist corps in the Myanmar Army which provides medical services to all Myanmar Army personnel and their families. The MAMC forms the Myanmar Armed Forces' essential military medical services under the command of the Directorate of Medical Services.

The Directorate of Medical Services (DMS) commands the Myanmar Army Medical Corps. The DMS also commands some military academies jointly with other directorates. Currently the Director of DMS is Maj Gen Soe Win. There are one Director, one Deputy Director, two Staff Officers and two Staff Officers in DMS.

Miss Universe Myanmar 2019 was the seventh Miss Universe Myanmar pageant was held on 31 May 2019 at Novotel Max Hotel, Yangon, Myanmar. Hnin Thway Yu Aung, Miss Universe Myanmar 2018 of Bago crowned Swe Zin Htet of Hpa-An her successor at the end of the event.The winner will represent Myanmar at Miss Universe 2019 in Tyler Perry Studios, Atlanta, Georgia, United States.

Miss Universe Myanmar 2020 was the eighth Miss Universe Myanmar pageant was held on 30 December 2020 at Novotel Max Hotel, Yangon, Myanmar. Swe Zin Htet, Miss Universe Myanmar 2019 of Hpa-An crowned Thuzar Wint Lwin of Hakha her successor at the end of the event. The winner represented Myanmar at Miss Universe 2020 in Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, United States where she placed in the top 21 and won the Best National Costume award.

Miss Universe Myanmar 2023 the 10th edition of the Miss Universe Myanmar pageant it was held on 14 September 2023 at Novotel Max Hotel, Yangon, Myanmar. Zar Li Moe of Bhamo crowned Amara Bo of Keng Tung her successor at the end of event. The winner represented Myanmar at Miss Universe 2023 competition in El Salvador.
