This is a list of universities and colleges in the Brunei Darussalam. Full-fledged public and private universities and colleges are available across the country.

All public universities and colleges are given authorisation to award the students with their internal degree concentrations (qualifications) which are always accredited by the Brunei Darussalam National Accreditation Council (BDNAC).

The biggest awarding body in the country for both, public and private universities and colleges is Brunei Darussalam Technical and Vocational Education Council (BDTVEC).

Brunei, formally Brunei Darussalam, is a country located on the north coast of the island of Borneo in Southeast Asia. It is the country's largest urban centre and nominally the country's only city. The capital is home to Brunei's seat of government, as well as a commercial and cultural centre. It was the first British college opening a campus as a foreign educational institution in the country through its partnership with Kensington College of Business in the United Kingdom, University of Chester, and Abdul Razak Holdings, Brunei Darussalam.

The Higher National Technical Education Certificate, abbreviated as HNTec, is a post-secondary vocational qualification in Brunei. It is a Level 4 qualification in the country's current national qualifications framework and awarded by the Brunei Darussalam Technical and Vocational Education Council (BDTVEC). It is equivalent to the National Diploma, although the latter has been phased out in government institutions. HNTec programmes are offered in the Institute of Brunei Technical Education and generally last two years. The qualification allows entry into Level 5-equivalent qualification, previously the Higher National Diploma. HNTec is the continuation of the National Technical Education Certificate (NTec).

The National Technical Education Certificate, abbreviated as NTec, is a post-secondary vocational qualification in Brunei. It is a Level 3 qualification in the country's current national qualifications framework and awarded by the Brunei Darussalam Technical and Vocational Education Council (BDTVEC), a government body under the Ministry of Education. It is equivalent to the Skill Certificate 3; the latter had been phased out in government institutions. NTec programmes are offered in the Institute of Brunei Technical Education and generally last one or two years. Entry to the qualification requires completion of the secondary education although it is not necessary to obtain any credits in the O Level examination. NTec qualification allows entry to the Higher National Technical Education Certificate (HNTec) or other Level 4-equivalent qualification.

Education in Brunei is provided or regulated by the Government of Brunei through the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The former manages most of the government and private schools in the country where as the latter specifically administers government schools which provide the ugama or Islamic religious education.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Abdul Aziz Umar</span> Bruneian politician

Abdul Aziz bin Umar GBE, also sometimes referred to as Pehin Abdul Aziz Umar, is a Bruneian nobleman and politician whom had a wide range of positions in the Government of Brunei. Before to that, he served as the Minister of Communications, the Minister of Education, and the Minister of Health. His last position was as Minister of Education, which he held from 1988 until 24 May 2005. His Excellency served in the civil service beginning with his first appointment in 1964 and held a number of roles from that time until Brunei's independence in 1984, including acting Chief Minister.
