Dance Theatre Aura first started as an amateur dance group back in 1980. It was founded by the current theatre director Birutė Letukaitė and several other young dancers. In 1982 they gave their first performance. Under the leadership of B. Letukaite who remains Aura’s managing and artistic director this small group of dancers has grown into and has become the best known contemporary dance company in Lithuania with strong international troupe of professional dancers from China, France, Italy, USA, Philippines and more. In 1995 the City of Kaunas awarded Kaunas Dance theatre Aura the status of a municipal theatre.
Since 1989 Kaunas Dance theatre Aura is the organizer of the International Modern Dance Festival, which was recently changed into International Dance Festival AURA. Though the International Modern Dance Festival is first of all an integral part of cultural life and a meaningful tradition in Kaunas, the Festival is being brought to other Lithuanian towns too. The unique feature of the Festival is the night performances shown at alternative spaces in Kaunas.
Dance theatre Aura has more than 50 awards, have performed in more than 160 festivals in 26 countries by now.

Kaunas pantomime theatre is pantomime theatre in Kaunas, Lithuania. Theatre was established in 1968. Founder and leader of Kaunas Pantomime theatre was artistic director Kestutis Adomaitis (1948–1996). Kaunas Municipality becomes the founder of Kaunas Pantomime Theatre in 2003. Kaunas Pantomime theatre is the only Lithuanian professional ensemble theatre with a repertoire of this genre only. The theatre performed in many foreign countries, such as Germany, Russia, Romania, Latvia, Syria, Jordan, China, Moldova, Ukraine, Belarus, Poland, Denmark.
Kaunas city Chamber Theatre is a municipal theatre in Kaunas, Lithuania. The theatre was established in 1976 as Kaunas Youth Musical Studio.[1] Its founder and long-standing director was the Lithuanian actor and opera singer Stanislovas Rubinovas.[2] The theatre obtained the status of a professional theatre in 1986 and was called Kaunas Youth Chamber Theatre. Its name was changed to Kaunas Chamber Theatre in 2005. After Stanislovas Rubinovas death, his son, actor and director Aleksandras Rubinovas, was leading the theatre as artistic director from 2014 till 2016. From April 2016 former municipal budget office Kaunas Chamber Theatre was replaced by the public institution Kaunas City Chamber Theatre. The theatre, in addition to his own productions, also started to represent chamber productions of other Lithuanian theatres more intensively.
Kaunas International Film Festival is a film festival founded in 2007 by Visos mūzos and held in October each year in Kaunas and Vilnius, Lithuania. It has at times visited other cities in the country, such as Panevėžys and Nida. Ilona Jurkonytė is the festival's artistic director and Tomas Tengmark is its programmer.
Kaunas State Puppet Theatre is a puppet theatre in Kaunas, Lithuania. The professional theatre was established in 1958. Each theatrical season it offers to the spectators twenty puppet performances, and 4–5 new plays are usually staged. There are two halls for spectators – 226 and 50 seats each in the theatre. Small museum of puppets characters is set at the premises of the theatre. The theatre performed plays in festivals of many foreign countries.

Eglė Špokaitė is a Lithuanian ballet dancer, most notably a Principal Ballerina for the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre (1989–2011) and the only ballet dancer on the List of Famous Lithuanians. She co-founded the Egle Špokaitė Ballet School in Vilnius, Lithuania (2008), where she also served as artistic director. In the United States, she founded the Ballet Institute of San Diego dance school (2016). Špokaitė is also a choreographer, actress, and public speaker. She's the winner of the Lithuanian National Prize, as well as numerous other awards and honors. She lives and works between San Diego, CA and Vilnius.
The Lithuania Song Festival is a massive traditional song and dance festival. Since regaining the Independence in 1990, the event has gained the status of the national celebration. The most recent event took place between 30 June and 6 July 2018. The 2018 edition of the Song Celebration was dedicated to the Centenary of the Restoration of the independent state of Lithuania and took place in Kaunas and Vilnius. The main event has been hosted in Vingis Park in Vilnius.
