The 2023 ICC Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup was the first edition of the Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup,hosted by South Africa in 2023. The tournament was moved from its original slot at the end of 2021 to January 2023 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Sixteen teams competed in the tournament,initially divided into four groups.
The 2024 ICC Women's T20 World Cup is the ninth edition of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup. Originally scheduled to be hosted in Bangladesh from 3 to 20 October 2024,it was later relocated to the United Arab Emirates for the same dates due to political unrest in Bangladesh,although the Bangladesh Cricket Board still holds the hosting rights. Australia are the defending champions.
Sarah Dambanevana is a Zimbabwean cricket umpire and former international cricketer. She played for the Zimbabwe women's cricket team between 2009 and 2014,including at the 2011 World Cup Qualifier. In 2022,she was added to the Development Panel of ICC Umpires. She was one of the female umpires named by the ICC to stand in matches in the 2024 ICC Women's T20 World Cup. She became the first female Zimbabwean umpire to make her debut appearance in ICC Women's T20 World Cup.
