History

Kiwi Bus Builders was established in 1993. It has built bus and coach bodies for many operators including Go Bus Transport, NZ Bus and Tranzit Coachlines. [2] [3] [4]

In 2011, Kiwi Bus Builders entered an agreement with Alexander Dennis to assemble 120 Enviro200 buses for NZ Bus. [5] [6] [7] This was followed by an order for a further 40. [8]

Alexander Dennis Enviro200

The Alexander Dennis Enviro200 is a midibus that was manufactured by TransBus International and later Alexander Dennis between 2003 and 2018. The original TransBus Enviro200 design was innovative but ultimately unsuccessful, with few being sold before the introduction of the second generation Enviro200 revived sales for the product from 2006. It was supposed to be positioned in between a minibus and a rigid single-decker bus.

MCV Evolution Single decker bus bodywork

The MCV Evolution is a low floor and low entry single-decker bus body built by Manufacturing Commercial Vehicles. It was unveiled in 2003 as the successor to the MCV Stirling. The MCV Evolution 2 was launched, initially on Mercedes-Benz chassis in 2011.

The Wright StreetLite is a low-floor midibus introduced by Wrightbus in 2010. It was originally available in only one body style before the door forward and StreetLite Max variants were introduced in 2011 and 2012 respectively. It was the first Alexander Dennis bus model which was only sold as a hybrid-electric vehicle, the Enviro200H, 400H and 500H models having diesel-powered equivalents.

Alexander Dennis Enviro200 MMC Single-decker bus produced since 2014

The Alexander Dennis Enviro200 MMC is a single-decker city bus produced by Alexander Dennis since 2014, as the successor to the Enviro200 midibus and Enviro300 full-size bus. The first Enviro200 MMCs entered service with National Express West Midlands in 2015. Notably, Enviro200 MMCs have been modified by Fusion Processing to be used as the basis for the first driverless bus trials in the United Kingdom.

The Tranzit Group is a company that operates buses in New Zealand. It was founded by Albert Snelgrove as Grey Bus Service in 1924. It became Blue Bus Service in the early 1950s and then Tranzit Coachlines in 1985. It has a 46% shareholding in InterCity.
