Wetaskiwin was a federal electoral district in Alberta, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1925 to 2015.
Albert Lacombe, commonly known in Alberta simply as Father Lacombe, was a French-Canadian Roman Catholic missionary who traveled among and evangelized the Cree and also visited the Blackfoot First Nations of northwestern Canada. He is now remembered for having brokered a peace between the Cree and Blackfoot, negotiating construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway through Blackfoot territory, and securing a promise from the Blackfoot leader Crowfoot to refrain from joining the North-West Rebellion of 1885.

The Heritage Junior B Hockey League (HJHL) is a Junior B ice hockey league in Alberta, Canada, sanctioned by Hockey Canada. The HJHL was founded in 1987 and is made up of teams from southern and central Alberta. The HJHL is the largest Junior B league in the province, with 15 teams that competed in 2006-07. The top two teams qualify for the Alberta Provincial Junior B Hockey Championship, whose winner had an option to compete in the Keystone Cup.

The club was formerly known as the Bentley Generals from 1999-2016, and played out of the Bentley Arena in Bentley, Alberta, as well as the Red Deer Arena.

The Taber Police Service is the municipal police force for the Town of Taber, Alberta. Graham Abela is the current chief of police. In September 2010, it became the only town in Alberta to have its own police service, when the town of Lacombe incorporated as a city. The force was established in 1904.
