As of the census [2] of 2000, there were 730 people, 263 households, and 199 families residing in the town. The population density was 22 people per square mile (8.5/km2). There were 287 housing units at an average density of 8.7 per square mile (3.3/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 98.63% White, 0.41% African American, 0.27% Asian, 0.14% from other races, and 0.55% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino people of any race were 0.55% of the population.
There were 263 households, out of which 37.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 67.7% were married couples living together, 3.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24% were non-families. 19.8% of all households were made up of individuals, and 10.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.78 and the average family size was 3.2.
