The Delhi Capitals are a franchise cricket team based in Delhi, India, and are one of the teams participating in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Capitals played their first match in the first season of the IPL against the Rajasthan Royals. [2] The Capitals reached the IPL playoffs three times, and have topped the group stage table twice. [3] [4] [5] Their performances in the competition have resulted in their qualification for the 2009 and 2012 Champions League Twenty20, [2] [6] in which they reached the semi-finals on the second occasion. [7] In total, 108 players have played for the Capitals, [8] of whom Virender Sehwag has played the most matches: 86 since his debut for the franchise in 2008. [1]

The leading run-scorer for the Capitals is Sehwag with 2,382 runs. [9] Rishabh Pant's innings of 128 not out against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2018 is the highest individual score in an innings by a Capitals batsman. [10] David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan both have scored two centuries each for the Capitals, [10] whereas Sehwag, AB de Villiers, Kevin Pietersen, Quinton de Kock, Sanju Samson, and Pant have scored one each. Virender Sehwag is a former Indian cricketer who represented India from 1999 to 2013. Widely regarded as one of the most destructive openers and one of the greatest batsman of his era, he played for Delhi Capitals in IPL and Delhi and Haryana in Indian domestic cricket. He played his first One Day International in 1999 and joined the Indian Test side in 2001. In April 2009, Sehwag became the first Indian to be honoured as the Wisden Leading Cricketer in the World for his performance in 2008, subsequently becoming the first player of any nationality to retain the award for 2009. Harshal Patel is an Indian cricketer who has played for his country's national team in Twenty20 internationals (T20I), having made his debut against New Zealand on 19 November 2021. He is a right-arm medium pace bowler who bats right-handed. Patel has played for Gujarat and Haryana in domestic competitions. He has also played for Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League.

The Deccan Chargers (DC) were a franchise cricket team based in Hyderabad, India, that competed in the Indian Premier League (IPL), a professional Twenty20 cricket (T20) league in India. They were one of the eight teams that competed in the 2009 Indian Premier League, making their second appearance in all IPL tournaments. The team was captained by Adam Gilchrist and coached by Darren Lehmann with Kanwaljit Singh and Mike Young as assistant coaches.

Delhi Capitals are a Twenty20 franchise cricket team based in Delhi, India. The team plays in the Indian Premier League and competed in the 2019 edition of the competition between March and May 2019. In December 2018, the team changed its name from the Delhi Daredevils. The Capitals started their campaign with a 37 run victory over three-time champions Mumbai. The Capitals finally entered the playoffs after 7 years, and they won their first-ever playoffs match. The Capitals ended up as 2nd runners-up in the playoffs.
