The 1999 NBA draft was held on June 30, 1999, at the MCI Center in Washington, D.C. It was the first draft in which four players from the same college were picked in the first round, with Elton Brand, Trajan Langdon (11th), Corey Maggette (13th) and William Avery (14th) being selected out of Duke University. It is widely viewed as one of the best draft classes, with a total of nine future NBA All-Stars being chosen, as well as three winners of the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award—Manu Ginóbili, Jason Terry, and Lamar Odom. Six of the top nine picks were NBA All-Stars. Pablo Prigioni, who was eligible for selection but went undrafted, eventually debuted in the 2012–2013 season as the oldest rookie in NBA history at age 35.
Joseph Fitzgerald Hamilton is an American former professional football player who was a quarterback in the National Football League (NFL), NFL Europe and Arena Football League (AFL). He played college football for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, earning consensus All-American honors and winning the Davey O'Brien Award in 1999. After his playing career ended, Hamilton became an administrator and coach. He has served as the running backs coach for Georgia State University and currently works in the recruiting department for his alma mater, Georgia Tech.
Benjamin Ray Zambiasi is a former linebacker for the University of Georgia and in the Canadian Football League (CFL).
Matthew Douglas Stinchcomb is an American former professional football player who was an offensive lineman for seven seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Georgia Bulldogs, earning All-American honors. He was a first-round pick in the 1999 NFL Draft, and played professionally for the Oakland Raiders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the NFL.
Jarvis Jerrell Jones is an American former professional football player who was a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Georgia Bulldogs, and was recognized as a consensus All-American twice. He was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round of the 2013 NFL draft, playing for them for four seasons before retiring following a short stint with the Arizona Cardinals in 2017.
DeAngelo Tyson is a former American football defensive end. He was selected in the seventh round, 236th overall, by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2012 NFL Draft. He played college football at Georgia.
Shaquille Olajuwon Mason is an American football offensive guard for the Houston Texans of the National Football League (NFL). Mason played college football at Georgia Tech from 2011 to 2014 and was selected by the New England Patriots in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL draft.
Sony Michel is an American former football running back who played in the National Football League (NFL) for five seasons. He played college football for the Georgia Bulldogs and was selected by the New England Patriots in the first round of the 2018 NFL draft. During his first three seasons with the Patriots, he was a member of the team that won Super Bowl LIII. Michel spent his next season with Los Angeles Rams in 2021, winning Super Bowl LVI, and his final season with the Los Angeles Chargers.
Georgia Bevan is an Australian rules footballer who played for Adelaide and the Gold Coast in the AFL Women's (AFLW) competition. After playing softball as a teenager she changed sports to football. After playing for Morphettville Park Football Club in the South Australian Women's Football League and winning three consecutive premierships with the club, she was drafted by Adelaide in the inaugural AFLW draft and was a member of their premiership winning team in the 2017 AFL Women's Grand Final. In 2021 she was signed as an injury replacement player by the Gold Coast and was delisted at the end of the season.
Derrick Brown is an American football defensive end for the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Auburn and was drafted by the Panthers in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft.
Deandre Lamar Baker is an American football cornerback for the DC Defenders of the United Football League (UFL). He played college football at Georgia and was drafted by the New York Giants in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Baker played one season with the Giants before being released by them due to charges of armed robbery, which were later dropped. He has also been a member of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Carey Mecole Hardman Jr. is an American football wide receiver who is a free agent. He played college football at Georgia and was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the second round of the 2019 NFL draft. He has won Super Bowl LIV, Super Bowl LVII, and Super Bowl LVIII with the Chiefs. In Super Bowl LVIII, Hardman scored the game-winning walk-off touchdown in overtime. Hardman has also briefly played for the New York Jets.
Isaiah Terrell Wilson is an American former professional football player who was a offensive tackle for one season with the Tennessee Titans of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Georgia Bulldogs and was selected by the Titans in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft. Since dropping out of the NFL, he has pursued a career as a rapper.
Zamir Alexza White, nicknamed "Zeus", is an American football running back for the Las Vegas Raiders of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Georgia and was selected by the Raiders in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
Charlie Kent Woerner is an American football tight end for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Georgia, and was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
Eric Jamane Stokes is an American football cornerback for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Georgia and was selected by the Packers in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
Montavian Lamar Rice-Jordan is an American football linebacker for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League (NFL). He previously played for the Tennessee Titans of the NFL. He played college football at Georgia and was selected by the Titans in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
The 2022 Georgia Bulldogs football team represented the University of Georgia in the 2022 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Bulldogs played their home games at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Georgia, and competed in the Eastern Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). They were led by seventh-year head coach Kirby Smart. They entered the season as the defending consensus national champions.
