Manohar Parrikar Indian politician

Manohar Gopalkrishna Prabhu Parrikar was an Indian politician and leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party who served as Chief Minister of Goa from 14 March 2017 until his death. Previously, he was Chief Minister of Goa from 2000 to 2005 and from 2012 to 2014 and from 2017 to 2019. He also served as the Minister of Defence from October 2014 to March 2017. In January 2020, he was posthumously awarded Padma Bhushan.

Ajit Singh (politician)

Chaudhary Ajit Singh is an Indian politician. He is the founder and chief of the Rashtriya Lok Dal, a political party recognized in western part of state of Uttar Pradesh, and son of former Prime Minister of India late Chaudhary Charan Singh.

Sambasiva Rao Kosaraju is a professor of computer science at Johns Hopkins University, and division director for Computing & Communication Foundations at the National Science Foundation. He has done extensive work in the design and analysis of parallel and sequential algorithms.

Ajit Jain is an Indian American executive who is the Vice Chairman of Insurance Operations for Berkshire Hathaway as of January 10, 2018. He was raised in India's coastal state of Orissa. Ajit Jain is an older cousin of Anshu Jain, who was the former Co-CEO of Deutsche Bank.

Arvind Kejriwal Indian politician

Arvind Kejriwal is an Indian politician and a former bureaucrat who is the current and 7th Chief Minister of Delhi since February 2015. He was also the Chief Minister of Delhi from December 2013 to February 2014, stepping down after 49 days of assuming power. Currently, he is the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party, which won the 2015 Delhi Assembly elections with a historic majority, obtaining 67 out of 70 assembly seats. In 2006, Kejriwal was awarded the Ramon Magsaysay Award for Emergent Leadership in recognition of his involvement in the grassroots level movement Parivartan using right to information legislation in a campaign against corruption. The same year, after resigning from Government service, he donated his Magsaysay award money as a corpus fund to found the Public Cause Research Foundation, a non-governmental organisation (NGO).

Srikumar Banerjee Nuclear scientist and metallurgical engineer

Srikumar Banerjee is an Indian metallurgical engineer. He retired as the Chairman Atomic Energy Commission of India (AECI) and the Secretary of Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) on April 30, 2012. Prior to his stint as DAE Chairman, he was the Director of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) from April 30, 2004 to May 19, 2010. He is currently a DAE Homi Bhabha Chair Professor at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai.

Harish Hande Indian businessman

Harish Hande is an Indian social entrepreneur, who co-founded SELCO India in 1995. He was awarded with the Ramon Magsaysay Award for 2011 for "his pragmatic efforts to put solar power technology in the hands of the poor, through his social enterprise SELCO India".

Dr Manmohan Singh Scholarship

Dr Manmohan Singh Scholarships are available for any students for doctoral study at St John's College at the University of Cambridge and for undergraduate studies at the university. The Scholarships are named in honor of Manmohan Singh, a former Prime Minister of India and a renowned economist. Singh graduated from St John's College with a First in Economics in 1957, went on to earn a DPhil from the University of Oxford in 1962, and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Cambridge in 2006.

Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar engineering and technology higher education institute

Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar is a public technical and research university established by the government of India in 2008, located at Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. It is one of the eight new Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India under The Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 2011 which establishes the eight new IITs as well as declares IT-BHU as Indian Institute of Technology. The Act was passed in the Lok Sabha on 24 March 2011 and by the Rajya Sabha on 30 April 2012. It started functioning from the campus of IIT Kharagpur on 23 July 2008 and shifted its operation to the city of Bhubaneswar on 22 July 2009.

Indian Institutes of Technology Autonomous Indian public engineering institute group

The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are premiere autonomous public technical and research universities located across India. They are governed by the Institutes of Technology Act, 1961, which has declared them as Institutes of National Importance and lays down their powers, duties, and framework for governance. The Institutes of Technology Act, 1961 lists twenty-three institutes. Each IIT is autonomous, linked to the others through a common council, which oversees their administration. The Minister of Education is the ex officio Chairperson of the IIT Council. As of 2020, the total number of seats for undergraduate programs in all IITs is 16,053. The only major requirement to admit to these institutions at undergraduate and postgraduate level is to pass the JEE Advanced and GATE respectively.

The 2013 Indian Premier League spot-fixing and betting case arose when the Delhi Police arrested three cricketers, Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan, on the charges of alleged spot-fixing. The three represented the Rajasthan Royals in the 2013 Indian Premier League. In a separate case, Mumbai Police arrested Vindu Dara Singh and Chennai Super Kings Team Principal Gurunath Meiyappan for alleged betting.

Satya Pal Singh (Uttar Pradesh politician) Member Of Parliament of India and Former Mumbai Police Commissioner

Satya Pal Singh was India's Minister of State for Human Resource Development responsible for Higher Education and Minister of State in the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation. He is a Member of Parliament (MP), since 2014, representing Baghpat constituency, Uttar Pradesh in the 17th Lok Sabha and then retaining his seat in 2019 elections. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
He formerly served as the Police Commissioner of Mumbai.

Rajeev Kumar (academic)

Rajeev Kumar is a professor at Jawaharlal Nehru University. While he worked at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur he successfully campaigned to reform the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) by which the IITs admit undergraduate students, by introducing greater transparency into it. He received the National RTI Award in 2010 for his efforts, and a 2011 Supreme Court judgement called him "one of the many unsung heroes who help in improving the system."

<i>Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!</i>

Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! is a 2015 Indian Hindi-language mystery action-thriller film directed by Dibakar Banerjee and produced by Banerjee and Aditya Chopra. The story is based on the fictional detective Byomkesh Bakshi created by the Bengali writer Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay. The film stars Sushant Singh Rajput, Anand Tiwari, Neeraj Kabi and Swastika Mukherjee in principal roles. It was released on 3 April 2015 to positive reviews from critics but it became a commercial failure. A sequel with Rajput reprising his role was planned.

Arjun Malhotra Indian entrepreneur, industrialist and philanthropist

Arjun Malhotra is an Indian entrepreneur, industrialist and philanthropist. In 1975, Malhotra co-founded HCL Group, where he served as vice chairman. He also founded TechSpan and served as chief executive officer of US-based firm Headstrong after the two companies merged. He also co-founded SPIC MACAY along with his college friend Kiran Seth for the promotion of Indian music and culture amongst youth.
