This is a list of Wii games with traditional control schemes. Nintendo's Wii video game console, released in 2006, primarily focuses on the use of an unconventional video game controller, in the form of the Wii Remote. The controller emphasizes the use of motion control through an unconventional remote control form factor. While leading to new gameplay experiences, such as Wii Sports , it at times does not translate well to more traditional video game types. However, the console is also compatible with more conventional controllers, primarily through the use of the Classic Controller and the GameCube controller. This list documents the Wii games that are compatible with either controller. It does not include Virtual Console downloadable titles, as generally all Virtual Console games were compatible. Additionally, while all Wii models are compatible with the Classic Controller, the later Wii Family Edition and Wii Mini models removed the GameCube controller ports, leaving the controller incompatible with such devices. It was designed by Alex Neuse and Chris Osborn, while the visuals were designed by Mike Roush. While initially having what they now describe as "noisy" audio and visuals, they changed them to be more minimalistic to alleviate this, a decision which worked well with their minimalistic design for the HUD. Neuse designed it so that it could be open to interpretation by players, though stating that they intended it to delve into starring character Commander Video's psyche, and "what it means to have emotions and personal space."

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U Pair of 2014 video games

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, both commonly referred together as Super Smash Bros. 4, are 2014 crossover platform fighter video games developed by Bandai Namco Studios and Sora Ltd. and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U video game consoles. It is the fourth installment in the Super Smash Bros. series, succeeding Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The Nintendo 3DS version was released in Japan on September 13, 2014, and in North America, Europe, and Australia the following month. The Wii U version was released in North America, Europe, and Australia in November 2014 and in Japan the following month.

Off-TV Play Feature of the Wii U GamePad

Off-TV Play is a feature of Nintendo's eighth-generation video game console, the Wii U. Like all video game consoles, the Wii U uses a console and a controller to manipulate an image on a television screen. The Wii U's unique feature is that its controller, the Wii U GamePad, has its own built-in screen for displaying images. It can display an entirely different image, or duplicate the television screen into the Wii U GamePad. Off-TV Play is the term used for when an entire game is played strictly on the controller, without the use of a television. The GamePad also features two speakers that can be used for Off-TV Play. There is no standardized way to activate Off-TV Play and how it's implemented depends on the game.
