This is a list of airstrikes during the Iran–Israel War . The war began on 13 June 2025, when Israel attacked targets at more than a dozen locations across Iran. Under the codename Operation Rising Lion, [a] the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Mossad attacked key nuclear sites, military installations, and residential areas [1] [2] [3] , including targeted assassinations of military and civilian personnel, many of whom were killed in their homes or in meetings [4] . Beginning on the evening of 13 June, Iran initiated retaliatory strikes against Israel, under the codename Operation True Promise III. [b] [c] The operation consisted of ballistic missiles and drones targeting military sites, intelligence sites, and residential areas. [6] [7] Iran also threatened to target American, British, and French military bases if they provided assistance to Israel. [8]

The PFEP included IR-4 and IR-6 centrifuges, which was used to produce 60% enriched uranium. [9] [10] [11] The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) stated only the "above-ground" portion of the PFEP was destroyed, and that "there is no indication of a physical attack on the underground cascade hall containing part of the Pilot Fuel Enrichment Plant and the main Fuel Enrichment Plant." [12] It was reported by the Royal United Services Institute that the damage to the PFEP might have been caused by GBU-31(V)3 or GBU-28, two types of bunker buster bombs. [10] The IAEA later confirmed that "14,000 operational centrifuges located at one of the underground halls have been severely damaged if not destroyed altogether". On June 17, the IAEA confirmed the underground portion of the Pilot Fuel Enrichment Plant was struck and destroyed. [13] [14] A U.S. weapons expert also confirmed the PFEP building itself sustained at least three direct missile strikes based on explosive impacts detectable from satellite imagery.
