    Football is the most popular sport in Lebanon. It was introduced to Lebanon in the late-19th century, becoming particularly popular among teachers and students Christian schools. The Lebanese Football Association (LFA) was formed in 1933 as one of the earliest administrative bodies for association football in the Middle East. The Lebanon national team made its unofficial debut in 1935 against Romanian club CA Timișoara (T.A.C.), while their first official FIFA game was in 1940 against Mandatory Palestine.

    <span class="mw-page-title-main">Shanghai Shenhua F.C.</span> Association football club in Shanghai, China

    Shanghai Shenhua Football Club is a Chinese professional football club based in Shanghai, that competes in the Chinese Super League, the top tier of Chinese football. Shanghai Shenhua plays its home matches at the Shanghai Stadium, located within Xuhui District. The owner of Shanghai Shenhua F.C. is Shanghai Jiushi Group, a state-owned cultural and sports operation company in Shanghai. Shanghai Shenhua is one of the four clubs to have never been relegated from the Chinese top-flight since the Chinese Super League's foundation in 2004. The term shen hua literally translates as "the Flower of Shanghai" in English – shen is one of the alternative names for Shanghai and hua means flower in Chinese.

    <span class="mw-page-title-main">Al Ansar FC</span> Lebanese association football club

    Al Ansar Football Club is a football club based in Tariq El Jdideh, a district in Beirut, Lebanon, that competes in the Lebanese Premier League. Formed in 1951, the club did not win its first Lebanese Premier League until 1988. They went on to set a world record by winning the league 11 seasons in a row.

    Nejmeh Sporting Club is a football club based in Manara, a district in Ras Beirut, Beirut, Lebanon, that competes in the Lebanese Premier League. The club was established in Beirut in 1945, and received its license in 1947. Nejmeh's board is affiliated with the Future Movement and the Hariri family.

    Global Football Club was a professional football club that last played in the Philippines Football League (PFL), the top flight of Philippines' club football. The club has won four league titles, two UFL Cups, one UFL FA Cup, and one PFF National Men's Club Championship. They have participated in the AFC Cup three times.

    The Shanghai derby is a name given to a football derby contested by any two teams in the city of Shanghai, China. The term specifically refers to individual matches between the teams, but can also be used to describe the general rivalry between the different clubs. Shanghai Shenhua against Shanghai COSCO Huili (2002–2005) and Shanghai Shenhua against Shanghai Port are ranked as two of the most ferocious Shanghai Derbies.

    <span class="mw-page-title-main">Beirut derby</span> Rivalry between Al Ansar FC and Nejmeh SC

    The Beirut derby is the name given in football to any match between cross-city rivals Ansar and Nejmeh.

    Gilan Derby or Classic Gil is a three-way derby between soccer teams in Rasht and Anzali in Gilan province, Iran. The first derby occurred in 1976, with the confrontation between Sepidrud and Malavan in the first round of the Hazfi Cup. This game ended in favor of the students of Bahman Salehnia with two goals from Ghafour Jahani and Aziz Espandar.

    The 2021–22 Lebanese Premier League was the 60th season of the Lebanese Premier League, the top Lebanese league for association football clubs since its establishment in 1934. The league started on 11 September 2021 and ended on 4 June 2022.
