In an October 2015 forum, Jollibee president and CEO Tony Tan Caktiong announced that Jollibee planned to open their first branches in Australia and Japan by 2017. Last year it opened eight new outlets, a big increase on the four to five new restaurants opened in each of the previous few years. It now has 25 outlets, compared to Jollibee's 58.
