Landstede Hammers is a Dutch basketball club based in Zwolle. The club plays in the BNXT League, the Dutch top tier division. The club was founded as Cees Lubbers The Hammers in 1995. In 1999, the club’s name was changed into Landstede Hammers. In 2001, the club received its current name Landstede Basketbal as the team became part of the same-named educational institution in Zwolle. The home games of the club are played in the Landstede Sportcentrum.

The 2011 BWF Grand Prix Gold and Grand Prix was the fifth season of BWF Grand Prix Gold and Grand Prix.

Basketball Days is a yearly friendly international basketball tournament that is held in Zwolle, Netherlands since 2011. The tournament is played by 8 teams from around the world in the Landstede Topsportcentrum, home of Landstede Basketbal. It is held from December 26 till December 30.

The Landstede Sportcentrum is an indoor sports complex located in Zwolle, Netherlands, which is used as a sports arena and was opened in 2010. It is the home of basketball team Landstede Hammers. The "centre court", which is used by both the club has a capacity of 1,200 people.

Its operator is the city of Almere and its main hall has a capacity of 3,000 people. The sports it is used most for are volleyball and basketball, with VC Allvo and Almere Pioneers use the venue as their home arena.

The 2014 FIVB Volleyball World League was the 25th edition of the annual men's international volleyball tournament, played by 28 countries from 23 May to 20 July 2014. The Group 1 Final Round was held in Florence, Italy.

The 2015 Women's European Volleyball Championship was the 29th edition of the European Volleyball Championship, organised by Europe's governing volleyball body, the Confédération Européenne de Volleyball. It was hosted by Netherlands and Belgium from 26 September to 4 October 2015. The championship managers were the Dutch Olympic gold volleyball medalist Peter Blange and the former Belgian volleyball player Virginie De Carne. Russia defeated Netherlands 3–0 in the final to capture their 19th title, while Tatiana Kosheleva was elected most valuable player back to back.

Almere Sailors was a Dutch basketball club based in Almere. Established in 2020, the team played one season in the Dutch Basketball League (DBL), the highest level of basketball in the Netherlands. Home games are played in the Topsportcentrum Almere, which has a capacity of 3,000 people. A year later, the team left the league due to financial difficulties and filed for bankruptcy a few months later.

The 2020–21 DBL Cup was the 53rd edition of the Netherlands' national basketball cup tournament. This season the format was changed due to the compressed playing schedule caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Only teams from the Dutch Basketball League participated this year and all games are to be played in one week.

The 2021 Women's EuroHockey Indoor Club Cup was scheduled to be the 32nd edition of the Women's EuroHockey Indoor Club Cup, Europe's premier women's club indoor hockey tournament organized by the European Hockey Federation. It was scheduled to be held at the Topsportcentrum in Almere, Netherlands from 11 to 13 February 2022. On 17 January 2022 it was announced the tournament was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic for the second year in a row.

The 2022–23 Basketball Cup, also known as the Dutch Basketball Cup, was the 55th season of the Netherlands' national basketball cup tournament. The preliminary rounds began on 3 September 2022, while the first round began on 22 October 2022. The season ended with the final on 12 March 2023 in the Landstede Sportcentrum.
