The mountain was named in 1884 by George M. Dawson after James Hector, a geologist on the Palliser expedition. The mountain is located beside the Icefields Parkway, 17 km (11 mi) north of Lake Louise.

Daxue Mountain is a high mountain in Yongde County, Yunnan, China. It is located west of China National Highway 323, about 50 km to the northwest of Lincang.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Gyala Peri</span> Mountain in the Himalayas

Gyala Peri is a 7,294-metre (23,930 ft) peak just beyond the eastern end of the Himalayas at the entrance to Tsangpo gorge. It is part of Nyenchen Tanglha Shan, although it is sometimes included in Namcha Barwa Himal of the Himalayas.

Xueshan, formerly known as Mount Sylvia and by other names, is a mountain in the Heping District of Taichung, Taiwan. It is the 2nd-highest mountain in Taiwan and in East Asia, at 3,886 m (12,749 ft) above sea level. It is located in the Shei-Pa National Park and is visible in good weather from hills near Taiwan's capital Taipei.

Tianzhu Mountain or Mount Tianzhu is a mountain in Anhui, China. Tianzhu Mountain is also called Mount Wan, from which the provincial abbreviation for Anhui ("Wan") derives. Ancient names of the mountain include Mount Huo 霍山, Mount Heng 衡山, and Taiyue 太岳.

Sauyr Zhotasy, also known as Muz Tau, at 3,840 m is the highest point in the Saur Range and of the entire Saur-Tarbagatai mountain system, part of the Tien Shan, on the border between Kazakhstan and China. It lies 100 kilometres (60 mi) southeast of Zaysan Lake. Despite its low elevation, it is well separated from higher ranges in its area ; it is therefore ranked highly by topographic prominence.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Khüiten Peak</span> Tallest mountain in the Altai range

Khüiten Peak, also known in China as Friendship Peak, is a mountain peak in the Altai Range. The international border between China and Mongolia runs across its summit point, which, at 4,356 metres (14,291 ft), is the highest point in the Altais and the highest in both Mongolia and Altay Prefecture in Western China. The peak is covered in snow year-round.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Bairiga</span>

Bairiga or Ruoni is the highest peak of Kangri Garpo Range of southeast Tibet Autonomous Region. The region has only recently been explored and before 2009, none of its 47 peaks above 6,000 m had been climbed. Bairiga / Ruoni, which remains unclimbed itself, was photographed for the first time in 1933 by the botanist explorer Frank Kingdon-Ward, at which time it was known as Choembo.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Bukadaban Feng</span>

Bukadaban Feng or Buka Daban Feng, Syn Qing Feng or Bokalik Tagh, is a remote peak on the border between Ruoqiang County, Xinjiang and Qinghai provinces of China. The Chinese term 'Bukadaban Feng' is borrowed from the Uyghur for "bison peak". It is part of the Kunlun Mountains of East-Central Asia. At 6,860 metres (22,507 ft) – the height 7,720 metres (25,328 ft) on older maps was incorrect –, Bukadaban Feng is the highest point of the Qinghai province and with a prominence of 1,922 metres (6,306 ft), it is also an ultra prominent peak. The peak is considered part of Hoh Xil.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Mount Siguniang</span> Mountain in Western China

Mount Siguniang, or Mount Skubla is the highest mountain of Qionglai Mountains in Western China. It is located in the bordering area of Siguniangshan Town, Xiaojin County and Wenchuan County in Ngawa Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province.

Yuzhu Peak, also known as Sob Gangri is a mountain in Qinghai Province, China. It belongs to the eastern part of the Kunlun Mountains and its height is 6,178 meters above sea level.

Pauhunri is a mountain in the Eastern Himalayas. It is located on the border of Sikkim, India and Tibet and is situated about 75 km northeast of Kangchenjunga. It marks the origin of Teesta river.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Kangto</span> Mountain in Arunachal Pradesh India, on the border with China

Kangto at 7,090 metres (23,261 ft) is a mountain of the Eastern Himalayas located in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh and it shares its border with the Tibet Autonomous Region of China. It is the highest point in Arunachal Pradesh. The area in which Kangto is located lies in the Lada circle of East Kameng district of the state. On the Chinese side, it lies in Cona County of Shannan Prefecture, Tibet.

The Crown, also known as Huang Guan Shan and sometimes Crown Peak, is a mountain in the Karakoram mountain range in China. It is located in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China. About 42 kilometers from Chogori Peak. Its summit has an elevation of 7,295 metres (23,934 ft) and it is the highest peak in the Yengisogat subrange of the Karakoram.

Liushi Shan, also known as Kunlun Goddess Peak, is a mountain in the Kunlun Mountain Range in China. The mountain is located on the border of the Tibet and Xinjiang autonomous regions of China.

Lunpo Gangri, also known as Loinbo Kangri, is a Himalayan mountain in Tibet Autonomous Region, China. It has an elevation of 7,095 metres (23,278 ft) and is the highest peak in the Gangdise range. The second highest and the most famous peak in Kailash Range is the Mount Kailash which is considered sacred in four religions. Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Bon.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Reo Purgyil</span> Himalayan mountain

Reo Purgyil, sometimes known as Leo Pargial and Leo Pargil, is a mountain peak at the southern end of the Zanskar Range in the Western Himalaya. It is located on the border between Himachal Pradesh, India and Tibet, China.
