Ulverston is a market town and civil parish in Westmorland and Furness, Cumbria, England. Historically in Lancashire, it lies a few miles south of the Lake District National Park and just north-west of Morecambe Bay, within the Furness Peninsula. Lancaster is 39 miles (63 km) to the east, Barrow-in-Furness 10 miles (16 km) to the south-west and Kendal 25 miles (40 km) to the north-east. In the 2001 census the parish had a population of 11,524, increasing at the 2011 census to 11,678.

Bretherton is a small village and civil parish in the Borough of Chorley, Lancashire, England, situated to the south west of Leyland and east of Tarleton. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 census was 669. Its name suggests pre-conquest origins and its early history was closely involved with the manor house Bank Hall and the families who lived there. Bretherton remained a rural community and today is largely residential with residents commuting to nearby towns.

The Anderton Baronetcy, of Lostock in the County of Lancaster, was a title in the Baronetage of England. It was created on 8 October 1677 for Francis Anderton of Lostock Hall in the parish of Bolton le Moors, Lancashire. The Andertons of Lostock were descended from the ancient family of Euxton Hall, near Chorley, Lancashire. They acquired Lostock by marriage in the 13th century. They were a devout Roman Catholic family and their estate was lost by sequestration in 1615 due to recusancy but was restored after the English Reformation to Francis Anderton the first Baronet. The third, fourth, fifth and sixth Baronets were brothers. On the death of the third Baronet, his heir, his brother Lawrence, a Benedictine monk succeeded to the Baronetcy but relinquished his claim to the Lostock estate. However his younger brother Francis, a Jacobite, was convicted of High Treason for his part in the Battle of Preston (1715) and the estate was again lost by sequestration. Lawrence returned from France, renounced his Catholicism and successfully reclaimed the estate. Francis was pardoned and on his death succeeded to the Baronetcy but he did not recover the estate which passed to his sister and her husband. The Baronetcy became extinct on the death of Sir Francis in 1760.
Devizes School is a mixed comprehensive school in Devizes, Wiltshire, England, for children and young people aged 11 to 18. The school is near the centre of the town, next to the Leisure Centre, between the A342 and A360. In September 2012, the school became an academy, and it joined The White Horse Federation Multi-academy Trust in 2017. The school is the only secondary school in the town of Devizes and also serves many surrounding villages. Built around the Georgian Southbroom House, the school now comprises additional teaching blocks of a more modern style, set within its own sports fields. Ofsted has graded the school Good in each of the past five visits, the latest in March 2019.
