MSC Seashore is a Seaside EVO-class cruise ship built for MSC Cruises at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy. As of August 2021, she became the lead ship of MSC's Seaside EVO class, a sub-class of the Seaside-class of ships built with larger dimensions. She was joined by sister ship MSC Seascape, since delivery in November 2022.
On 29 November 2017, at the delivery ceremony of MSC Seaside , MSC announced it had signed an order with Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri worth €1.8 billion for two new cruise ships, scheduled for delivery in 2021 and 2023, respectively. [1] The two ships make up the Seaside EVO-class, described as a "further evolution of the Seaside-class prototype" established by MSC Seaside and MSC Seaview. [1] The order for the first Seaside EVO ship replaced an order originally placed for a third Seaside-class vessel. [1] The first Seaside EVO ship would become the largest ship to have been built in Italy. [5]
On 26 November 2018, MSC revealed the name of the first Seaside EVO ship as MSC Seashore, the same day it held the steel-cutting ceremony for the ship at Fincantieri's shipyard in Monfalcone. [6] On 19 September 2019, the keel laying ceremony was performed for the ship, in which two coins were placed under the ship's keel for good fortune. [5] She was floated out on 20 August 2020 and moved to a wet dock to complete her outfitting work. [7] MSC Seashore was delivered in July 2021. [8]
On 22 December 2021, a 15-year-old died after falling from a balcony on the ship. The cruise line reported that it appeared to have been a suicide. [9]
Originally set to begin operations with her maiden voyage on 13 June 2021, MSC Seashore was scheduled to sail weekly Western Mediterranean cruises, visiting Barcelona, Marseille, Genoa, Naples, Messina, and Valletta. [10] However, after the COVID-19 pandemic caused construction delays at the shipyard, her debut was postponed to 1 August 2021, forcing MSC to deploy MSC Fantasia on her route until her debut. [11]
MSC claims MSC Seashore's changes in her overall design from her older Seaside-class sister ships make up more than 65 percent of the vessel. [7] She is larger than her sister ships: her height measures 74 metres (243 ft), her beam measures 41 metres (135 ft), and her length measures 339 metres (1,112 ft), [4] an addition of 16 metres (52 ft). [5] She also measures 170,412 GT, an increase from 153,516 GT, [10] and includes 10,000 square meters of additional deck space, [5] giving her the highest ratio of outdoor space per guest of any MSC ship upon her debut. [11] Onboard, she has expanded guest capacity resulting from 200 additional passenger cabins, [4] with 4,540 passengers at double occupancy or 5,877 passengers at maximum capacity, 758 more than that on Seaside-class ships. [10] The larger deck plan includes additional restaurants and lounge space, but fewer whirlpools. [6] The ship has features designed to enhance efficiency, such as a selective catalytic reduction system to control the ship's emissions and anti-fouling paint to reduce wave resistance on the ship's hull. [1] The MSC Seashore is the first new cruise ship to feature advanced air sanitation technology. According to MSC, the 'Safe Air' system reduces the risk of catching viruses. [12]
Fincantieri S.p.A. is an Italian shipbuilding company based in Trieste, Italy. Already the largest shipbuilder in Europe, after the acquisition of Vard in 2013, Fincantieri group doubled in size to become the fourth largest in the world (2014). The company builds both commercial and military vessels.
Pacific Encounter is a Grand-class cruise ship operated by P&O Cruises Australia, a subsidiary of Carnival Corporation & plc. She was originally delivered in 2002 as Star Princess to sister cruise line Princess Cruises in 2002 by Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri, and was the second ship in Princess' history to operate under the name. She had been the third Grand-class ship to be added to the fleet, following Grand Princess and Golden Princess. In 2018, Carnival Corporation announced that Star Princess would be transferred to P&O Cruises Australia to accommodate P&O's expansion plans in Oceania; however, amid the COVID-19 pandemic and its subsequent impact on tourism, Carnival Corporation accelerated the transfer of the vessel and Star Princess joined P&O's fleet in 2020, one year earlier than planned. Following a renovation and a renaming to Pacific Encounter, she debuted in August 2022 upon P&O's staged resumption of operations.
Margaritaville at Sea Paradise is a cruise ship owned by Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line and operating for Margaritaville at Sea. The ship was built in 1991 in Italy for Costa Cruises as Costa Classica. In 2000, a planned lengthening and refit was cancelled at the last moment. She was renamed Costa neoClassica in 2014, then left Costa fleet in 2018 when sold to Bahamas Paradise as Grand Classica. Since May 2022, the ship has been sailing as Margaritaville at Sea Paradise, after the cruise line announced a partnership with Margaritaville Resorts & Hotels.
Royal Princess is a Royal-class cruise ship operated by Princess Cruises, a subsidiary of Carnival Corporation & plc, and is the third ship to sail for the cruise line under that name. The largest ship to have been built for Princess at the time of delivery in 2013, she became the flagship of Princess. As the lead vessel of the Royal class, she lends her name to the company's Royal class, which will consist of six ships upon the last ship's delivery in 2021. The ship measures 142,714 GT and has a capacity of 3,560 passengers.

MS Rotterdam is a Pinnacle-class cruise ship operated by Holland America Line (HAL), a subsidiary of Carnival Corporation. Originally named Ryndam in development, she was renamed Rotterdam in July 2020 during construction to honor the name's legacy in the cruise line's history after six previous vessels in HAL's fleet bore the name. Rotterdam is the third of HAL's Pinnacle class in the fleet built by Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri and follows older sister ships Koningsdam (2016) and Nieuw Statendam (2018). Two years after the first steel was cut in March 2019 to commence construction, she was delivered in July 2021 and began operating in October 2021.

Her name, Nieuw Statendam, alludes to the five previous ships in HAL's fleet named Statendam. She is the second of three Pinnacle-class ships built by Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri after Koningsdam (2016) and before Rotterdam (2021). Two years after the first steel was cut in July 2016 to commence construction, she was delivered to HAL in November 2018 and began operating the following month.

Enchanted Princess is a Royal-class cruise ship operated by Princess Cruises, a subsidiary of Carnival Corporation & plc. Princess finalized the order for its fifth Royal-class ship in 2016 from Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri and her keel was laid down on 14 February 2019 in Monfalcone. Originally expected to be delivered in June 2020, the ship was hampered by construction delays after Fincantieri's operations were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, and she was delivered three months later, on 30 September 2020. After a year-long pause in operations amid the pandemic's impact on tourism, Princess inaugurated the ship's operations on 10 November 2021, when she set sail on her maiden voyage.
The World class is a class of cruise ships being built by Chantiers de l'Atlantique of France for MSC Cruises. There are four vessels planned, with the lead vessel, MSC World Europa, delivered in 2022.
MSC World Europa is a World-class cruise ship of MSC Cruises. LNG-powered, she was built by the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, and as of June 2024 is the world's eighth largest passenger ship and the largest cruise ship in the world that is not owned by Royal Caribbean International currently. MSC World Europa began public operations from 20 December 2022 in a 9-day roundtrip from Qatar after serving as a hotel ship in Doha during the 2022 FIFA World Cup. She became MSC's first World-class ship and will be joined by three sister ships in 2025, 2026, and 2027, respectively.
Discovery Princess is a Royal-class cruise ship operated by Princess Cruises, a subsidiary of Carnival Corporation & plc. The 145,000 GT-vessel was ordered in January 2017 with Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri and her steel-cutting was performed on 14 February 2019 in Castellammare di Stabia, Italy.
