The MacPherson Single Member Constituency is a single member constituency located in the central area of Singapore. It is managed by Marine Parade Town Council. The current Member of Parliament for the constituency is People's Action Party (PAP) Tin Pei Ling.
It existed from 1968 to 1991 as an independent ward, was merged with Marine Parade GRC until 2011, and became an independent SMC again for the 2015 general elections. As of 2020, it retains its status as a SMC.
The ward consists of Circuit/Pipit Road, Geylang East Central, Aljunied Crescent/Avenue 2, Mattar/Merpati Road, Paya Lebar MRT/Square and several areas near MacPherson.

The National Solidarity Party is an opposition political party in Singapore.
Aljunied is a sub-urban area located in the central part of the city-state of Singapore. Named after Aljunied Road, it was formerly agricultural land which has since been heavily urbanised and presently comprises a variety of land uses. Today, Aljunied is a bustling neighbourhood with HDB flats with amenities like shops, schools, parks and recreational facilities, as well as quite a number of traditional Singaporean shophouses.
The Pasir Ris–Punggol Group Representation Constituency is a five-member Group Representation Constituency (GRC) in the north-eastern region of Singapore. The constituency currently consists of Pasir Ris and parts of the Punggol town area. The GRC comprises 5 constituencies: Pasir Ris Central, Pasir Ris East, Pasir Ris West, Punggol Shore as well as Punggol Coast managed by Pasir Ris—Punggol Town Council. The current MPs are Sharael Taha, Desmond Tan, Teo Chee Hean, Yeo Wan Ling and Janil Puthucheary from the People's Action Party (PAP).

Joo Chiat Single Member Constituency was a single member constituency (SMC) located in the eastern region of Singapore. The SMC encompasses the areas of Joo Chiat, Katong, opera estate, Siglap and a portion of Telok Kurau. It had previously existed from 1959 until 1988, when it was merged with neighbouring constituencies to form Bedok Group Representation Constituency. It was reformed just before the 2001 general election after being carved out from East Coast Group Representation Constituency. The seat has been held by the People's Action Party since its reformation that year and was contested again in 2006.
The East Coast Group Representation Constituency is a five-member Group Representation Constituency in the eastern area of Singapore. The areas of the Group Representation Constituency consists of locations such as East Coast Park, Bedok, Changi, Simei, Siglap, Tampines, Pasir Ris, Chai Chee, Changi Airport. The GRC also covers a large portion of Singapore's eastern territorial waters. The five divisions: Bedok, Siglap, Fengshan, Changi-Simei and Kampong Chai Chee managed by East Coast Town Council. The current MPs are from the People's Action Party (PAP) Heng Swee Keat, Jessica Tan, Cheryl Chan, Tan Kiat How and Maliki Osman.
The Jurong Group Representation Constituency is a five-member Group Representation Constituency located in the western area of Singapore. The GRC consists of a large section of Jurong, sections of Bukit Batok and areas near Upper Bukit Timah Road. The five divisions of the GRC: Bukit Batok East, Jurong Central, Taman Jurong, Jurong Spring and Clementi managed by Jurong Town Council. General elections were held in Singapore on 2 January 1997. President Ong Teng Cheong dissolved parliament on 16 December 1996 on the advice of Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong. The results were released in the late evening that day and the ruling People's Action Party won a total of 81 out of 83 seats as well as a tenth consecutive term in office under the then-Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong. Other major political parties contesting in the election were the Workers' Party, Singapore Democratic Party, National Solidarity Party, Singapore People's Party and the Democratic Progressive Party.
Matthias Yao Chih is a Singaporean former politician. A former member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), he was a Member of Parliament (MP) representing Marine Parade GRC between 1991 and 1997, and MacPherson SMC between 1997 and 2011.
