MagsforMiles, a program run by CAP Systems, [1] allows people to redeem frequent flyer miles for magazine subscriptions. Members of frequent flyer programs with an active, positive mileage balance may receive direct mail informing them of the opportunity to redeem their miles for magazines. Opportunities to redeem miles for magazines are also available on Airline websites.

As of November 2024, Magsformiles is no longer in operation. The web site now points to another site focused on paid magazine subscriptions.

As of 2023, the selection is fairly small and includes Barron's, Whiskey Advocate, Cigar Aficionado, Wine Spectator, and Midwest Living, among others.

CAP Systems works with many major United States domestic airlines, including Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, American Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, Frontier Airlines, and others.

Criticism

Mark Dominiak of TelevisionWeek had a bad experience in 2006, never receiving the promised magazines, and by the time he realized it his miles had expired. [2]

Google SEO expert Matt Cutts had a similar experience, of the eight magazines and newspapers Cutts tried to order, he received zero. Instead, eight different times he was told that an 'overwhelming response' meant that title wasn't available. However, a week later, Cutts was contacted by both US Airways and MagsforMiles, at which time Cutts was informed that he had not updated his frequent flyer profile information after moving from NC to CA. This caused him to not receive the magazines he ordered. [3]

Virgin Australia is a majority-foreign-owned Australia-based airline with the core features of a low-cost carrier along with some elements of a full-service airline. It is one of two active airlines to use the Virgin brand, as well as the larger by fleet size. It commenced services on 31 August 2000 as Virgin Blue, with two aircraft on a single route. Air Macau is the flag carrier of Macau. It operates services to 24 destinations in Mainland China, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam, from the airline's home base at Macau International Airport. Multi-Aero, Inc., doing business as Air Choice One, a division of Southern Airways Corporation, was an American commuter airline with its headquarters in Concord, Missouri, within the Greater St. Louis area. It operated as a regional airline offering commuter flights from St. Louis Lambert International Airport to smaller regional airports, subsidized under the Essential Air Service program. Air Choice One's callsign, "Weber," is in honor of Mike Weber, the airline's first Chief Pilot.

SkyMiles is the frequent-flyer program of Delta Air Lines that offers points to passengers traveling on most fare types, as well as to consumers who utilize Delta co-branded credit cards, which accumulate towards free awards such as airline tickets, business and first-class upgrades, and luxury products. Created in 1981 as the "Delta Air Lines Frequent Flyer Program", its name was changed to SkyMiles in 1995. Originally all airlines including Delta, only gave miles for airline travel and not credit card expenditures. Delta claims to have been the first major U.S. airline without mileage expiration, so travelers can redeem awards at their leisure, but others have since followed. The airline also has a separate SkyBonus program that provides small to mid-sized business owners with a way to earn points for trips taken by employees, good towards free flights, upgrades, Medallion status and other travel awards. It has been ranked fairly high according to some independent news outlets.

Breeze Airways, legally Breeze Aviation Group, Inc., is an American low-cost airline headquartered in Cottonwood Heights, Utah. The airline was founded by David Neeleman, who previously co-founded Morris Air, WestJet, JetBlue, and Azul Linhas Aereas. Breeze's operations launched on May 27, 2021, with its inaugural flight from Tampa International Airport to Charleston International Airport.

InterMiles was the airline's frequent-flyer program of Jet Airways that ceased operations in April 2019, in which 50.1% stake is held by Etihad Airways, part of the Etihad Aviation Group. InterMiles is an independent, loyalty and rewards company formed in 2014. The program has about 10 million members.
